I recently had the opportunity to try this stuff on a boat. And no...I don't have pictures unfortunately. Been a little too busy to play photographer lately.

Anyways...I've been looking for a product to pre-clean boats and RVs. I heard some good things about this stuff...so I decided to buy some and try it out.

I must say, that it worked better than expected. I like to use it for the uncoated areas of fiberglass. Like the hull, and up top around the edges, or inside the boat. It did a great job at removing the water line, and yellow staining underneath the boat. I was psyched to see it clean up the underneath so nicely cause it's always a pain to clean up.

If you do boats...you really should try this stuff out.

I found it odd that it smells identical to Windex though. Makes me wonder if I could do the same thing with Windex, ha.

ARO is awesome stuff IMO.
Good to hear that you have had luck with boat and RV apps.
I've been using it for years on tires; wheels; wheel wells; mud flaps. It's a product that gets replaced by gal. size.
It's a must for taking the brownish bloom off tires to give you that deep black look.

great product .. water "seems" to really activate this stuff. Wife even uses it around home especially outside furniture.

ARO is my favorite tire/wheel well cleaner to date. Glad to here it works well for you too, Kris.:xyxthumbs:

Amazing Roll Off is just AMAZING!!!

2nd that Jimmie.

I love this stuff but I don't get why people would use it for tires or plastic. I used it on tires, wheel wells and other plastics and wasn't impressed. I got better cleaning ability from apc+ which is also the better choice for the money. So I sat the ARO on the shelf for a couple months till I had a boat to detail and decided to try it on that. It cleaned the hull and top edges really well like Kristopher said. My client saw the boat after I just pre cleaned it with the ARO and he thought I already buffed and waxed it:) This gave me the idea to use ARO under the hood of cars like on the painted areas of the underside of the hood and around the engine bay area/firewall and I've never found a product work so great for that. I just used it to clean a very large white work van that hadn't been washed or waxed in 5 years. ARO(diluted) cut through tough grime build up that regular car washes could never clean so easily. With my experience I see ARO as a degreaser that leaves a waxy finish. This is not good for tires/trim especially if you plan on dressing them but this is just my opinion.

I don't mean to hi-jack your thread Kristopher. I was going to write a small review on this stuff myself but figured I'd share here instead since you just did a review.

Why does water have to activate it?? Can you not spray it to dry tires and walk away? Does activating it apply to boats and canvas?
And scientifically WHY if anyone knows
Thx

No problem man. Hijack away! lol

I agree with you. I read that people use it on wheel wells and other things. I haven't even bothered to experiment with it outside of boats just because that was my main reason for purchasing it to begin with.

I really have never had a problem cleaning plastics and wheel wells...so I don't see any reason to buy ARO just for that. But, everyone has their reasons for doing things...and I'm sure it works well.

I was definitely impressed with it's cleaning ability on a boat. I will surely have this stuff on hand at all times.

Very interesting! I almost bought ARO to clean tires, but decided against it after reading that it leaves a sheen behind.

Exactly right! I use ARO for tires every time I strip them.

I can absolutely second the shine it leaves behind. I really like that part of it since I use it for the underneath of boats. You scrub it real good, rinse it off, and it looks like you waxed it too. Can't be mad at that, haha. But for tires...I could see it conflicting with the tire shine.

anyone want to comment on the my comment about water ACTIVATING the product ....

Yup, I agree with you. It seems to really work it's magic when it comes in contact with water. I actually like to spray it on the whole boat, then give a quick mist with the pressure washer, scrub, and rinse off.

ARO is the best thing I've tried at cleaning tires. Even straight Optimum Power Clean pales in comparison to ARO at tire cleaning. Regarding water and ARO, yes water makes it work better. I spray ARO on the tire, then dunk my tire brush in a bucket of water and scrub.

Folks here say the cut it 1:1 and it works great, I never tried it because it says, "water activated" so my thought was diluting it would activate it. Thoughts?

It does not leave a sheen behind on tires. Leaves you tires clean and matte looking.
