Best Clay

O.K well my guy's all out of SmartClay but he still has 10 4oz bars of Stuf products yellow caybar that he says is similar. SO if you want some Google Open motoring 'dot' com and look under SmartWax. Good luck and if I find another source I'll let folks know.
 
BTW someone in Florida bought up his SmartClay according to the owner or who ever has been answering my emails :mad:.....

I bought 7 bars of the Stuf Automotive clays, good stuff. But I bought them for $6 each.... only if that person knew what they were selling ;).

Clay is clay, in the us there is only one maker of clay, all clay for the most part is the same.

there are a few exceptions such as policlay (which is really mild) or a more agresive clay desigend for pro use.

I would suggest ordering a block from AG, perhaps worlfgang or DP.

I know this isnt much help but unfortunlty its the truth, the yello elasi-clay is nolonger available so for now we have limited clay selection

Something about copyrights thing, a small company put out of business by a big company. The yellow grabs better and holds up better to car soap and water. Also last longer.
 
Well my first 2 bars showed up and I am extremely happy to report they are Erazerclays Im the MAN:awesome::righton:
I have 4 more coming by the end of the week and no they are not for sale...
 
Is the yellow stuff from a couple of years ago in the Mothers kit the yellow "good" clay?

I figure the new stuff isnt the same but what about maybe two years ago?
 
Not sure if Mothers used this clay or not but this is the good yellow clay that you can hardly find. If you've ever use Clay Magic's blue clay availabe at autoparts store, this stuff is easier to work with.

how long ago did the yellow clay get discontinued? was the yellow claybars I had from PB the discontinued stuff, because that stuff was great :(

Also, can someone explain to me the grading on the clays? I've seen medium, fine, ultra-fine clay classifications. Whats the major difference? What should I use when?

As for overseas import of yellow clay, I have friends in the UK, if someone can tell me who to get them to contact (I don't trust them to get the right stuff) I can ask them to track the stuff down and get some sort of pricing.

I've been using Clay Magic, and so far so good. I'm going to order some Pinnacle Poly Clay as I hear good things about, and it looks good too! :)

-The higher the agressiveness the more prone to scratching the paint. Some vehicles in really bad shape need a stronger clay. The finer well the less likely it's going to scratch so you don't have to polish out scratches. Start with a fine clay and check it, if it works fine stay with it.

Yes the PB yellow clay is the discontinued stuff. They were available a few months ago but aren't available anymore. I've been searching for this type of clay in the UK, but haven't had any luck. I think the whole law suit deal made the company the produced these clay bars go into bankruptcy, so even though they can sell it outside of the US, they don't have the $$ to produce it... No facts on that but that's my humble opinion. There may be a manufacturer overseas that makes similar clay, but I do not know. Maybe you could ask your friend to do some searches for "SmartClay" or "Erazer Clay" and see what he comes up with...
 
Got some yellow clay from a local dealer today. They had 4 types of meguiars clay, yellow, light blue, dark red and gray. The one i got is called Mild clay D6100. by touch its slightly softer than the Pinnacle poly clay, but i have not tryed it on any car yet, so its to early to say how good it is. Personaly i like the Pinnacle poly clay.

Dont know if this is the same clay type as erazer clay, some one know?

I don't think that it is. Pull it apart a little. If it pulls like bubble gum, then it is. If it tears or rips, it isnt. Good find though!
