Best Topper for A Coating

when i spoke to Dr. G about what i did, he said more or less that's what OCP+ is. i didn't get details past that because i didn't care.
 
I just want to find something I can use as a drying aid and quick retailers that is wax and "synthetic polymer" free so I can clean the coating without clogging it up. Also finding a basic wash is difficult too besides all these fancy and expensive coating washes like reset

Thanks Bob it seems that over the counter only spray wax and then spray detailers with the mystery "proprietary synthetic polymer blend" can be found

Soap: Megs Hyper wash

 
Topping a Coating makes perfect sense because eventually you will get bored and need something else to play with... experience(gain?) and as a bonus now you have a sacrificial polishing layer. Besides don't some toppers have better shine?.... A sacrifice ritual can only increase fortune in battle....
 
As much as I like putting a topper on a coating, it probably doesn't add much protection. Now, I like to add a topper to 22PLE VX1 Pro simply because 22PLE is a little grabby and the toppers add slickness to the coating, which I prefer.

As to the science behind it: it's probably like needing a "Johnson rod" for your car repair (Kudos to those that recognize that without going to Google).
 
You guys topping coatings...should review the Todd Helme and Renny Doyle coating classes at the recent Detail Fest. Unless the coating is designed to be topped...and most aren't...only top with what specifically works with the particular coating. Otherwise save your money and effort with what it takes for a proper coating procedure. Doyle said over 70% of users are doing it wrong.

If any Coating needs, or is designed, to be "topped"...
it's not much to write home about.

I just used XMT spray finish and it really did a nice job on wifes car. I used XMT 360 in the beginning to spruce car up after setting in garage
 

For everyone saying that "coatings" don't need toppers. I find it funny most of them point to OC pro. But now the good Dr has come out with what is called Pro+. It is an added topper for OCP.

If people think they should top a coating or not is a personal preference. It's that same way some guys think 2+ layers of wax creates and adds to the look. It's all personal preference. And the nice thing is we can all have our own opinion and still get along.

yeah that's obvious. you know how some diagrams for complicated things are simplified into cartoon-like graphic diagrams so the layman can understand? welp, my theory is that people make up their own cartoon diagrams in their head of how car care products work and follow that. this market seems to thrive on overkill and doing things "wrong". wasting money is pretty commonplace. but hey, it's their money. as long as you aren't wasting customer money on bunk, then who cares. for a lot of enthusiasts, i guess it boils down to therapy and "it's their money".

i know i've already posted in here about this subject but i want to reiterate that sometimes the coating process needs to be modified since we don't live in a lab environment. for instance, spotting has been an issue with coatings during cure time. that's because in the real world, not everyone can keep their car indoors throughout the initial cure phase whilst things are most sensitive. a modification to that process can be using IR lamps. or, you can add something to temporarily protect the coating during curing such as a temporary sealant. will that sealant last? hell no. it better not, if the coating is as good as it claims, but it's a bandage for a process that is ideal only in a lab setting.

Bump yes agreed the blackfire seem to be very similar to coating but has 2 month durability but application and the flashing remind me
