Buying, polishing, and reselling aluminum rims...

I did learn quite a bit just doing that one.... :xyxthumbs:
Sounds like the mind of a professional detailer.... :)

I learned that I'd NEVER offer this as a service, haha. :xyxthumbs:
Sounds like a potential market not a lot of competion. :)

I just wanted to experiement and have a little fun with them. I'm actually glad they were pitted, cause now I know...that not much can be done so that was definitely interesting to me.:xyxthumbs:

So if you continue playing maybe you could make a lot of $.
Forget coating them... invest in one of those big lighted magnifying glasses that watch makers use: an industrial dreml or whatever toys are out there to deal with pitting and spend a couple of years figuring it how to do it in a way you enjoy?

Sure! it's a lot of work. But your the one who's gonna do it! I am 67and I'm gong to have some ice cream ....get winded from multi-quote replies.
;)

How about sometime after SEMA?

I appreciate the boost...but I really don't see myself getting into buying, repairing, and selling rims. It was SO much of hassle, and sucked up quite a bit of time.

You know that feeling you have while detailing...where you'll randomly think to yourself "you know, I like my job...this ain't bad at all!". I didn't have that feeling at all when doing that rim, haha.

For me, there's just so many more other things I could get into related to detailing other than that. I'm happy with just the occassional rim repair for a customer. I have no problem doing that as long as the money is right. But, giving myself that kind of work by buying beat up rims...not my thing.

BUT, if I come across a set of cheap, uncoated aluminum rims that just need a good polishing...I will absolutely jump on that. But if they're coated, and the coating has to be removed before repair...I am alllllllll set! Enjoy that ice cream, now I want some! lol

Yeah near about one year ago i had tried this task but time consuming too. This is also good in point of view to make some extra money.
