Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

I had the same problem in a friend's Golf R once, I didn't fit in the seats, the side bolsters were so narrow and rigid my back didn't actually reach the seat back.
My bum would fall asleep on a long trip in those race seats,
My brother's Amarok was the same as your friends Golf R the bottom bolsters were narrow, if you had big hips then you're done for.

How do you feel after sitting for about an hour,
I've made two, 10 hr, one way trips twice, in 2022 and 2024 and had no problems. I'm short and stocky but not overweight and I'm fine with them. My buddy has driven the car and he's 6 foot about 275 lbs and he likes the seats too, I think it comes down to your body type honestly

I'm 5 foot 9 about 190lbs i will have to take a seat next time I'm down at the car yard that has your model.

I tried to find one at my local dealer a while back, but they didn't have one, not even the hatchback. I wanted feel the "ambiance", and see if the seats would fit me, I'm 5,9, and 250lbs, for reference.

Seats seem to be really personal and the more bolstering and shaping it only makes them harder to fit properly across a wider range of body shapes.

The leather sport seats seats in the MK6 GTI were the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in; almost felt like they were molded for my body exactly. Same goes for the seats in my BRZ and a couple Audi's I've driven. I find them really comfortable and have easily done 7+ hours in them no problem. A recent Genesis G70 I got as a rental on a work trip also had some amazingly comfortable seats from a shape standpoint, but the bolstering was a touch soft.

I've never sat in a Recaro seat I found comfortable. Years ago when testing a Focus ST and later a Mustang GT with their optional Recaro's, I never even got on the road. The way they contour the shoulder area makes me feel like I was having to angle my shoulders forward and the head rests were pushing my head down. I never drove either off the lot. It makes me thing I'm a touch too short for those seats, even though I'm 5'9".

I actually find soft seats put my butt to sleep vs harder seats. I'll drive for days in a stiffer sport seat, but I find 7~8 hours in the cushy seats in my wife's last two SUV's (Toyota and Acura) get really uncomfortable. They seem too wide, have no real bolsters, and the soft seat bottoms just don't do anything for me.

Nate, I had forgotten about those optional Recaro's in the Mustangs, which of course made me think about how I always wanted to get a Recaro office chair--I just looked them up and they go for about $2,500.

The seats in the FJ sound like standard Toyota then, a bit flat with almost no bolstering, but that's a good thing for me. They're not particularly comfortable, but the funny thing is, I can drive for hours and they're not uncomfortable either, I don't have a sore back or a "sleepy" butt. I find the flatness and lack of bolstering good for when I go off road, if bolsters were holding me in the seats, I'd be thrown around a lot more, I try not to go too fast when I'm off roading.

Spotted my first Ioniq 5 N at an event I drove in a couple weeks ago. Cool to see one actually being driven in anger. I'm still amazed at how big these things are in real life versus how they look in pictures.

It's getting closer! Full scale mock-up and engine tests!

Genesis Magma Racing GMR001 reveal

Genesis GTP IMSA info

Genesis Magma race car engine testing has started

The engine choice is an interesting one. They bolted two of their turbo inline four engines together and turned it into a twin turbo V8. There were rumors about them doing something like this since Hyundai/Genesis didn't have much depth in motor sports to pull an engine from like other automakers.
I love hypercars. The recent Lamborghini SC63 is absolutely amazing to look at.

Our Discord group is anxiously waiting to see what Hyundai does with our Elantras next!

As great as the I5N and upcoming I6N is surely going to be, EV's are a smaller niche that my car is, so the next EN needs to respond according to the CTR & ITS...and then some

My buddy has a FiST and Hyundai has dropped the ball by NOT sending us the i20N, FiST owners are wanting/needing a replacement car and yet, NOONE offers one but Hyundai does/did, missed opportunity to further dominate

I told him they should do an N of the little Venue, simply called the NVUE! A slightly upgraded 1.6T making about 220 hp, wide body kit, big roof wing, suspension and seats...THEY COULD DO IT, plus offer it with the 8 spd DCT AND 6 spd manual🤌

Hyundai dropped the ball by never giving us the i30 N too. By all accounts is a true GTI fighter, and might even beat it. I've never understood why Hyundai of all people didn't simply bring the good stuff the sell the rest of the world rather than dumbing down their vehicle line for the US market.

Ughhh..And that... Every other automaker on the planet has figured out how to design the software and sensors to dynamically adjust to fuel octane levels. You'd think a global company the size of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis could figure it out too.

The IE multi-fuel tunes are quite popular right now with VW owners. You can go from 87 to E85 on the Mk8 GTI. Crazy.

But the jack of all trades is the master of none. Octane specific tunes still yield better results than a multi-octane tune with the same fuel.

Unfortunately, were not talking about an aftermarket tune. I would be more accepting in that instance. I've seen those octane specific ones on the aftermarket for VW and BMWs for a while. What I've never seen before is a stock ECU on stock programming need to do anything special. E85 is a different story. The stock tune may be set for an ideal octane, but would adjust on the fly between 87 up to 93RON. No need to run a specific procedure to "learn" anything.

Maybe you can pass that last sentence onto Hyundai

I know this, atleast I hope, the next EN does NOT have octane learning
