Chinese Acquire Flex Tools

What in the world is going on!? That is crazier than a wooden leg with a real foot! Wonder what is going to happen now? Hopefully the Chinese just make a knockoff version and sell it in their own country and the world still gets the version made in Germany. I will pay more for an authentic Flex.

That is a very bold statement and I will leave it at that.

Glad I got mine before this.

Okay, I'll bite. The above statement is the most vacuous statement of the year, and it's December!

100% agree. Unbelievable what people say...

USA has better manufacturing than Germany...

Swiss watches are crap, that's why German manufacturing is crap...

Absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly why I don't own any of those brands. My appliances are all whirlpool, electronics are Sony, Samsung, and you'll never catch me owning a foreign car. I honestly can't think of anything I own that is German affiliated.

How many parts in your vehicle do you think aren't made in the USA?

Ummm I think the Swiss watch comment was something called SARCASISM!

Shameful. I would think the company headquarters will be in Germany and manufacturing will be in china. I could be wrong.

We all have seen this very country (USA) send our manufacturing overseas, or to Mexico where lower wages can make the same product and benefit the corporate level employees with more profit.

Thing is, could the end result be lower prices and a stronger global market share. ORRRRRR..... products remain at higher prices, and profits go up due to lower manufacturing costs. Hmmmmm.....

Personally I'd rather see the first part.

Edit: Not knowing the quality first hand I can't say either way. But I do know a local high end detailer that swore FLEX off all together due to every 3401 he had broke, more than once. He switched to GG6 almost 2 years ago. :dunno:

Guys I was making a joke, a bad one, but a couple caught it. But seriously I would never own a foreign car. I'm a mopar guy

Piggy-backing off of swanicyouth's use of "CHUPES" in a previous thread:

It appears that there's another "CHEX"...in the mix.
^^^Egads!!^^^
Makes me want to go roast my chestnuts on an open fire.

That's a shame. Many "foreign" cars are made here in the US. Yes, the profits go back to the home country, but many Americans are employed and paid well.

Not true here in the US. US tax law allows multi-national companies to hold profits made overseas and not pay US taxes on them.

Re-read what I wrote. What you said is the same thing I did.:xyxthumbs:

That's how I look at it. There are a lot of folks feeding their families by building Outbacks in Indiana and X3s in Spartanburg, SC (MTB FTW).

Look at the upside. German manufacturing and Chinese ownership could lead to a decrease in prices. I'm sure no one has a problem with that...
