Coated my tires today and WOW,

This Saturday I will be doing 2 rinseless washes on cars I did in the fall, kinda my way of saying THANKS for letting me prep their cars for the winter, I actually did 3 of them and one of them had tire dressing on it from the dealership and I "think" I got it all off. The other is his wife's Yukon and the other is one of his employees ride that I know had nothing on it. Its going to be interesting to see how they come out, its been since mid Oct to early November since I've touched them, hard to say how they were taken care of, so its going to be a true test. I'm going to find out if anything was put on the tires and how often they were washed.

I plan on re-applying the TW tire coating as a part of my courtesy wash but I will take before and after pics with info. I'm going to try and get my own car in there the following week for a good wash in warm temps, hit it with some spray wax and touch up my own tires. I know the TW doesn't take too well when applied in cool temps and his shop will be atleast 60 degrees so I'm good to go there. I should only need to do 1 coat on the customers tires as well as my own.

Here are the before and afters. I coated these tires about 3 minutes ago, give or take and its been a rough winter to start the year and this is a work truck too. I should also mention that these tires had dealership dressing applied and I got it off best I could. I know there's not a lot of matte black left but there's a little so not too bad all things considered.

I will post the Jeep tire pics when I get it into the shop, time for a break after doing a fingerless, Opti-Clay wipe down and ECO TOUCH sprAY waxing.
 
Looking at the before pic, I'm gonna say that those tires probably still looked and held up better versus basically all other tire dressing products with perhaps the exceptions of Tuff Shine, and the DP Tire Coating.
(Please forgive if there's other coatings I'm not aware of)

The after pic looks superb.

Not sure how CP DLX would fare? Sort of expensive for one for use as a tire product.
 
As we all know the TW tire coating is well under $20.00😎

Ok here's the Jeep I did about 3 month's ago. The pics go as follows:

1. As I started on it, dirty

2. Sprayed Bleache-White on it and let it foam up, see how it works still (haters)

3. After wiping down with DG rinse less on the wheels and wiping the tires with a damp micro fiber towel.

4. Everything dried up

5. Fresh coat of TW tire coating to get her through the rest of the winter.

IMO the tire coating still did it's job in the 4 th pic, just barely a matte finish but no Browning, pretty good IMO.

Its going to be interesting to see how the DP tire kit does for me. I will use it when I get my new non-winter tires come spring. I have the entire kit sitting and waiting to be used, DP has some tough, NON finicky competition but I've had great luck with DP over the years, so I'm looking forward to it. You know what they say about competition👈

This coupled with the fact that all you have to do is rinse off and wipe with a MF. The tires clean so easy it's ridiculous.
Then again we don't have to worry about marring,etc.

TWBlack Endura is a win, win in my book. But I still won't use their paint products....LOL
 
I applied 3 initial coats myself but it all depends on your tires absorb it. It seems some of us users have to apply more and some less. I can tell you that on my winter tires that the initial 3 coats didn't do too well after the first snow/salt we got. I mean it was still matte but looked like it was a month old at that point. I then applied another coat about a week later and almost 3 monthes in with a good amount of snow and salt, not to mention countless rinseless washes, touch-free washes and rainy days, it still got a nice, matte finish as of today.

Now I can say on my 3 season standard tires the initial 3 coats did the trick and after a month I would "freshen them up" to my own tastes, but that's up to the user themselves.

It seems the type of rubber surely has something to do with it, along with how well you clean the rubber and the temps you apply it at. The directions say 55 to 85 and when I applied it my winter tires it was maybe 55 down in the garage, so again, that could've played into my results but like I said, they're looking great still.

I have 3 coats on mine. If I remember right, it was around 45°F in my garage, well below manufacturer instructions. After 15 minutes, it was still wet (I touched it.) I ended up waiting an hour in between the first 2 coats, and then it was too late in the evening, I ended up putting the 3rd coat the next morning (after 12 hours.)

I'm thinking I'm going to give it a shot and try a coat down in the garage, its usually close to 40 down there. I could do it and let it sit for over 12 hrs after a work day.
 
First Attempt at posting pictures using SmartPhone. I originally applied 2 coats of this stuff Its been about 34 days and so far its holding up well even with the highways being spray with liquid Salt.

I like that idea of the 1 x with the stop. I need to make 4 of those.
Looks good with 1 coat. How long did you let it sit after application?
 
Day 43 (6 weeks):
This cellphone shot was taken on my dirty van & tires before an ONR wash today. The previous wash was 6 days ago, with a couple of rainy days in there so the sheen was a little off in this photo.
I've since ONR'ed it but could not take a photo (daylight was gone). Trust me when I say, the shine is back and there's almost no difference between Day 37 - see previous photo - and today.
