Cobra Indigo Microfiber Polishing Cloth - 12 pack purchase comments

Did this happen with the Arctic white towels also?

YES, confirmed. I have one at my house that I cut the edges off of, but it has yet to see the washer machine. I use it to clean up misc stuff around my house since its winter time and the car is seeing very little love at the moment.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will be communicating with our manufacturer to resolve this issue.

Of course, anyone that has received and is unhappy with these towels can contact either myself, Meghan or our customer service department and we will be happy to offer either a refund or an exchange.

No problem Dwayne,

Thank you for the quick reply and action's taken. This is a win/win for everyone imo. In the end the customers are happy with the purchase and support from AG , and thats what matter most imo.

Maybe your manufacturer can make good with credit on the incorrect product that was shipped to the store.

Now that AG has done their customarily great job of demonstrating sound judgement and respect for their customer, I have to add that Poorboy and Pakshak microfibers are superior to those offered by AG.
AG drying waffle weave drying towels are excellent.

I wouldn't be too hard on AG. Cursory evaluation of incoming stock is the norm for any business. Are they the correct size, color, fabric, how many boxes and stated contents against the invoice, etc. We can't expect AG to inspect every individual towel that comes from the manufacturer and for all we know, there could be mixed lots in the delivery with only a percentage of towels with the hot wire cutting process.

I'm not sure where the towels were manufactured but there is a long history of manufacturing in certain counties where the factory will substitute parts outside of contract or change the contracted manufacturing specs without asking permission or telling the buyer that it was done. It's one of the reasons that I preferred to manufacture in the US.

The most important thing to remember is AG's willingness to stand by their products and customers. If you are not happy with the towels, just give them a call.

yeah mistakes happen, but this is happening more often with other towels as well...

When I recieved my souveran wax, I noticed that the MF that it came with the edge was hot wired. Its a nice MF but I guess I have to use it else where.

Are these going to be re-stocked with the correct laser cut as well? Is the current stock going to be discounted?

I would love to tell you that the towel is useful as maybe an all purpose towel, but IME, I wouldn't even use it on the interior of the car, and definitely not on clear plastic.

IMO, that edge is so sharp and hard that you could potentially scratch interior parts like wood grain inserts or soft touch panels.

The towel fabric seems very nice, so I would suggest that you just cut the edges off about 1/4 inch from the melted ends. I have one that I did this to that is not fraying, but I have yet to wash it.

The current ones are close out deal. Much cheaper then before and can be used for other things.

From the information in this thread, it seems that is going to be the case, as the indigo is on closeout. I'm sure both towels (considering there very similar) will be fixed and re-released.

I didn't see the arctic on clearance yet. Does AG know there is a problem with these as well?

carefully.... the edge is hard and sharp , and will for sure mess up clear or soft plastic.

Another test I usually always do when I get my microfibers is pull them tight and run the edge across my mouth. I know it sounds weird. But your face and mouth are very sensitive to the touch, and you will feel things that you may have missed upon visual inspection. If it pass's that test, IME, it always pass's the CD test, and vice versa.

Now that I think of it, I realized the problem with these towels using that method., along with seeing the edge did not look kosher.

I guess Pockets @ Poorboy's is going to be up to his ears inspecting towels now. I've hung out in their shop for hours chatting away while Pockets inspected towels. Steve might even have to get off of his office chair to help out.

I know the quality on Pb's towels is top notch...just out of curiosity, did Pockets "reject" a lot of towels, and do they just toss them as a cost of doing business, or do they try to get a refund from the supplier?

don't know what their policies are with their supplier but Pockets had dropped a few towels on the floor during inspection and gave them to me to take home for free. Free DMTs Woo Hooo!! I don't recall him having to reject many towels.

I was just curious as to whether their quality came from the towels being good to start with or from a rigorous inspection process to dump the bad ones. Good to know they are checking them all.

I have some of the older indigo's without the hot wire cut edges and they are great towels!!! If AG can get back to those, that would be awesome. The older indigo's are the only cobra MF towel I'm a fan of.

Agreed. The old indigo is my favorite towel. The only other cobra towels I like is the guzzler and that purple one(forgot the name)
