Compounds

That hasn't been my experience. In fact, that's one of last resort systems before the rotary comes out.

Maybe tell us what tool, pad, speed, pressure, size of work section, etc regarding technique you are currently using.

Using the rupez 21 section 2x2 section little pressure and slow arm speed and using all meguries pads.

Yes and speed 5

Ok.

You might actually picking up residue faster than you realize. Once this hsppens, you lose cut and finishing.

It's also a super aggressive combination.

How are you cleaning the pad?

I clean them after each section with a brush. If you have air, that works even better.

Rupes recommends speed 3 or 4 for microfiber pas cutting.

I use air and blow pads of constantly. Maybe I'm going to fast. Was thinking it was my pad Selection so was thinking of switching to lake country pads. I do test spots but on the the back caddy and Subaru I can't get it dialed in. Thank u for the help.

D300 is more like mid range compound and so is M100. M101 and many others are much more agressive. Megs mf cutting discs are great though.

Holy Smokes, I just saw that 32 oz. of Wolfgang uber compound is $70.

Personally, I think M100 is a great CHEAP 1-step compound on hard paint.

But 90% of the time I use either Fast Correcting cream or Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL

S3 Gold XXL finishes better and is easier to use and remove on porous soft paint.

Fast Correcting Cream cuts more and and is the best compound I've ever used on normal/hard paint.

Subaru quite soft paint. Maybe start with Menzerna 2400 (or Menzerna FG400 if really bad), Rupes Green or Buff & Shine Maroon Uro-Tec pad.

Even that might leave some marring on soft paint, perhaps follow with Sonax Perfect Finish on yellow or white Rupes pad.

Cadillac id try M101 and go from there, Orange Force pad if ya have a Flex 3401, LC Thin Pro cutting pad if Rupes.

Are you guys using megs MF cutting pads on rupes/boss long-throw polisher? I feel like they would cut great but wouldn't be very good with the extreme heat and stress generated by these machines. I've always just used megs MF cutting pads on my GG6 or HF DA. Never considered using them on the rupes.

Megs MF are fantastic on Rupes.

I just want to find a good one or two products and like 4 or 5 pads that will work well with any paint. Maybe that can't happen but would like to try.

My question is been using meguries 100 and 105 and 205 and wondering if there is better compound and polish paint correction? Also use meguries pads.

Thanks Josh

If you want to venture away from Meguiar's, Sonax polishes are pretty good.

That is ok system but does not cut enough to do a real paint correction. But thank u

Try dialing the speed back to 4. You will get better results with D300.

But 105 is so dusty so I prefer 100 but that almost to aggressive on lots of paints. Just trying to figure this out cause have had lots of trouble with caddilac black paint and subura black paint with leaving cut marks or maring after use? Yes I do test spot and that what I get for results?

If you want to stay within the Meguiar's line, you always have the option of using ultimate compound. Derived from M105 but less cut. M100 and M105 are close in cut.

Seems a LOT of Rupes users love the megs mf pads. Pretty much an industry standard pairing at this point.

However!

The new Rupes pads are very similar to the megs pads in regards to the actual fiber than the old pads. Because the substrate is more dense than megs, it will probably fall in between the megs cutting and xtra cut discs.

I still feel like the original cuts more than the new though.
