Detailed: 2009 Honda Civic Si - Rallye Red

Great work Marc! Love the red and you knocked it out of the park :xyxthumbs:

Looks great Marc! Nice photos and the wheel/tire combo is awesome as well!:props:

Great job.

Thanks, Johny B!

Hi Marc...

As is the norm for you:

You still have some M81?!?! :wow:

I ran out of it a couple of years ago. :(

-I'll have to give your "M205-mix" a try with
either MO7/A12 for: "further-refinement-polishing".
My vehicles really like all of the TS-Oils that I can give them!! {LOL}

Lest I forget:
Thanks for sharing your detail-processes/tools,
along with the accompanying photos...:dblthumb2:

:)

Bob

THANKS a lot, Bob!!!! Glad to hear you like the results and write-up.

I have to give that combo a shot.

Any plans for more mods?

I have the same opinions about the 21 after using mine yesterday. I did it without the washer mod though. Can't wait to get more time under my belt.

Exact reason why I went with the 21.

The only mod that I really want to do is doing the HFP sides. I really don't care so much for the rear. Another mod that I want to do now is to lower it more but I hate to do the same mod twice.

How do you like the 21ES? I want to install a washer on it. Mainly because the top part of the BP (the blue part) is getting stained black from the contact its making with the black plastic housing. There were times that black plastic pieces were flying off. I feel that it's preventing the motor from spinning freely and it could prematurely wear out the motor. Did you experience the same thing?

Ah yes, finally get to see your sweet 8th Gen looking all dripping wet. A+ work as usual Marc. It must be a relief being able to work on your car. I love red paint!

Thanks so much for the compliments, Aaron! I love my car! Yeah it's definitely a relief... Been wanting to do this for a while now.

Great work Marc! Love the red and you knocked it out of the park :xyxthumbs:

Thank you, Buddy!!! Yeah red is my favorite color too!

Looks great Marc! Nice photos and the wheel/tire combo is awesome as well!:props:

Thanks a lot for the compliments, Chris!!! I love my new wheels!

What suspension are you on and what do you plan on upgrading with?

Im on H&R sports with Koni Yellow's in my 07 BMW.

Hi Mike,

I'm on HFP (Honda Factory Performance) suspension. The package includes both shocks and springs. The advertised drop is 1" but I barely got 0.5"... I want to lower it further like you said but I just hate to do the same mod twice... I'm thinking about getting Eibach pro-kits. I don't want to be too low that will result in me scraping everywhere.

A full Eibach system with spring, shock, and sway bars will be the hot ticket for your ride.

I already have a 22mm Progress RSB awaiting installation. I just haven't installed it yet because I want to track the car with the stock RSB and install it afterwards so I can compare.

Yikes that sounds expensive!!!

I really want coils but it's just way too much money considering you have to get camber kits. Also, I'm afraid to get the entry level ones because who knows if they're well constructed or not. Brands like KW or H&R are just way too much hahaha!

Eibach Pros wont be too low, usually they have the least amount of drop. H&R tends to go lower.

As long as you go with any decent progressive rate spring you should be fine, just stay away from the cheap "coil over" kits that consist of a linear spring and an adjustable perch that go on a standard strut.

Ill always have a spot in my heart for properly done up Hondas. Love it man, great job

Super sweet ride and awesome job on the correction work. I love the wheels as well although I am partial to gold wheels!

For me the pro-kit drop is perfect. I think it leaves around 1 finger gap all around which is perfect for me. I prefer to have 1-2 finger gap. I don't want to be scraping everywhere I go LOL!

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I can hit you up when it's time for me to upgrade to coilovers.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, wrb_subie!

very detailed show & shine thread

nice work

Thank you, c5errr!

Nice work, lots of taping.

Thanks, runrun411! I hate the taping process myself. A lot of times, the tape flies off when the pad hits it anyway.

Thanks a lot man!!! Appreciate it. Does your WRX also have gold wheels?! PICS please!!! :)

Awesome work again, Marc! The wheels and that front lip really make that car! I wouldn't go too much lower either, I actually think it loos good now.

Get that washer installed too! ;)

Man I miss my 8th gen Si....I actually seen it listed for sale a few weeks ago on Auto Trader when my wife was shopping for a car....it has 78K on it now and looked pretty beat up. :(

NICE JOB!!

Obviously, the LHR21 is awesome! How do you like the Rupes pads? I think they're awesome, too!

What speed did you use with the Rupes?

Sweet ride! I have a 12 SI coupe and love it:) great job on the detail too!

Let me know. Before became a firefighter / paramedic I did alot of performance stuff for Subarus primarily, ECU tuning etc for a big dealer in Florida.

Still have some connections I can put you in touch with.

Looks great!

Thanks, vet!

Thanks a lot for the compliments, Chad! Means a lot coming from you!

I love my front end. I like how the front spoiler and custom lip sets the car off. Also, makes it look more custom.

I really want to get a washer... I think it's a necessity for the Rupes.

Get another Si. Get another Si. Get another Si... Hahaha!

Thank you so much, Mark!!!

I think the Rupes pads are OK. There's nothing special. Any other pads can be used with the machine IMO. I don't like how it's curved so the first time you use the pad, it doesn't make full contact to the paint.

I used it on speed 4.5. If I need extra cutting power, I bump it up to speed 5. What speeds are you using it with Mark?

Thank you, Sicoupe! Please post pics of your ride! What color do you have?

Definitely will!! Thanks so much for the offer. I sincerely appreciate it.

Curved? That's interesting, I never experienced that. I use speed 4, and bump it up if anymore is needed.

Is the speed 4 with foam or microfiber pads?

So you ended up keeping your Rupes?
