Dewalt DWP849X Initial Thoughts

Nice write up. I have always loved dewalt tools, and this appears to be one their quality tools. No surprise.

I LOVE my Dynabrade for heavy compounding with big pads, but I have a feeling this new Dewalt will become my go to all purpose buffer! :dblthumb2:
my dynabrade now sits on the bench while the dewalt steals the show :xyxthumbs:

That is a great looking RO I like it goes down as low as 600

Edit- Nevermind, it didn't work for me either...

I can assure you these are all videos, they just won't let me embed videos from Photobucket.

Nice review Dave! :xyxthumbs:

Sweet looking polisher, I like that they finally lowered their rpm's down to 600...my old 849 has been sitting on the bench for about 3 years now after I got the Makita.

Did you ever get the new Flex? I got mine last Friday but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Dave, I think you like the damn gloves as much as the polisher lol. Be honest, have you been sleeping with them on?

Thanks for all the pics...I'd say the only thing i think this package is miss is (and if anyone agrees or disagrees please speak up) a bag! I know its not a BIG deal but...i like having my tools in a bag when im not using them...and i like to be able to keep a group of things together in a bag (pads/polishes/BP's etc).

I'm still torn between the dewalt and makita....decisions decisions...i guess whatever one strikes me in the moment of making a purchase will be the one i go with lol

Thanks Chad! I haven't gotten the Flex yet. I'm waiting for some other products from that supplier, so it will be a little while before I get it, but I'm looking forward to it!

LOL I do really really like the gloves! I would have loved if it came with a bag as well. I have a spare medium sized pelican case, so I may try and cut some foam out and make a custom carrying case, but we will see if I ever get around to that...lol.

Excellent review Dave! I was telling Corey last night that I was lusting for one of these and almost pulled the trigger the other night. I have never used a rotary and am quite happy with my Flex and GG DA's. I want to read your impressions after using it!

Thank you very much Jim! I will be sure to post up my thoughts after I get to spend some times with it.

I say go for it, they aren't as difficult as many make them out to be. :dblthumb2:

That is encouraging. Have you ever used the Flex 3401? If so...then im sure you've noticed how it tend to 'walk' on you if you dont keep the pad perfectly flat...I was wondering are rotaries the same way...or worse or are they more forgiving?

Rotaries can walk on you, but it's not that big of a deal. Just need to get your technique down. I would much rather use a rotary than that darn flex DA...lol

Is the music Clutch?
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! lol.

A chicken cookie... gross.

CRACKER then???
