Besides price can someone tell me what's different about these?

I love my OPC but thinking the megs might be a little more cost effective. Thanks in advance.

I lifted this quote from a post David G. (Dr. G) from Optimum made in the APC/Leather thread regarding OPC:

Most APCs contain caustic soda or caustic potash. Caustics are also used in paint removers so at high enough concentration, they can not only damage uncoated (tanned) leather, but also they can damage coated leather as well. However, Optimum Power Clean does not contain any caustics and that is why it is safe to use on coated as well as tanned leather.

In looking at the MSDS for APC+, it contains:

Sodium Dodecylbeneze Sulfonate
Silicic Acid, Disodium Salt
Tetrasodium Salt EDTA

I'm assuming these are the type of "caustics" being referred to that are not in OPC, but I don't see an MSDS sheet available to compare.

I used that (Meguiars APC / greenish color) on my leather recaros in my evo and would not recommend it on delicate seats.

Not long after using it, my seats began to crack ... and my hands too!

At same dilution, I think OPC cleans better on tires. I use both since Meg's seems more cost effective when you do not need superior cleaning.

great answers. thank you. I think i started to read that about the chemicals in that other thread but got scared off by the big words. I was looking to go the cheaper route but as we all know...you get what you pay for.

I put MSDS sheets on the Optimum forums download section a few months ago if you guys ever need them.

Opt PC also contains these ingredients.

As far as APCs go, I've never used another(tried dozens too) that is so versatile as OPC. It's the jack of all trades and the master of all. And.....it's safe on leather!!

Maybe that's why Megs distinguishes APC+ from their regular APC maybe it's safer? And maybe Megs APC fits in the "most" category but the APC+ doesn't? I really have no idea, but seems logical enough since they have two products.

APC+ is a lower foaming than Meg's. APC+ is reportedly slightly stronger than APC.

so mark, you use OPC like you would use p21 TAW? I was looking through some threads today because i almost bought it and saw you mention something like that.

OPC does rock but 3x the price of the apc+ I guess versatility has it's price. you can also dilute the megs 10:1 and i even see some people going 30:1 I'm trying to talk myself into the cheaper route but it won't happen, i love my opti products too much.
