Dirty Girl - Extreme Maserati Makeover!

Thank you. The owner loved it!

He then asked me to send him some info on how to maintain the finish.

I'll be sending him these links,

Must Have Microfiber! At least my opinion :)

Must Have Wheel Cleaning Brushes that make cleaning wheels fast and easy

And because he said he wanted to get into detailing and bring his wife's car back to life,

And this is just one reason I like a forum over other social media platforms - it's so much easier to share loads of info.

The GREAT thing about those links....is that I, too, have used them to share with people after I've detailed their cars! THANKS MIKE!

It's end of day Friday, I took some beauty shots this morning but no time to get to them except this one pictures....

The rest next week. I've been summoned for jury duty on Monday, so won't be into work until after I go through the process to find out if I'm chosen or not.

:)

I really am interested in and will get the Cordless Beast. Honestly this thread answered some of my questions for sure and I thank you for that!

I assume it comes with a 5 inch backing plate to kinda keep the strain off the battery some? I ask because I often use the 6 inch BP for my 3401.

I also plan on getting the new Super Beast when it comes out! Mike, my question to you about that is.... does The finisher, the Cordless finisher, the CBeast and the Super Beast all use the same backing plate or are they machine specific? They all look similar to me. Thank you

Super beast?

And as promised, here's the after pictures. Ha ha - it's 4:30pm Eastern time on the Monday after the Friday I corrected and coated this car and I just now got to dealing with the pictures.

So much paper work and electronic communications builds-up over any given weekend.

She came in dirty and contaminated, filled with light swirls and scratches everywhere.

She left looking like a liquid wet, polished gemstone.

Paint sealed with Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating

I think the results speak for the product....

All work performed using products from Pinnacle Black Label. The tool I used is the NEW CBEAST by FLEX.

Pads: I tested 3 different pads, the pads I went with were the B&S Uro-Tech 6" Dark Blue Heavy Polishing Foam Pad

On Autogeek.com

FLEX 8-125 18.0 Polisher Kit - aka the CBEAST!

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Prep Spray 8 oz

Pinnacle Black Label Compound 8 oz <-- I used up the entire bottle.

Pinnacle Black Label Polish 8 oz (only used about 1/3 of the bottle)

B&S Uro-Tech 6" Dark Blue Heavy Polishing Foam Pads

GYEON Bald Wipe Microfiber Towel 16x16

12 Pack Forrest Green Edgeless Microfiber Polishing Cloths

I wish the products came in larger, 16 ounce bottles instead of the smaller boutique bottles that are currently being used but once you get past that the products work great.

If I had a shop and used the PBL line, I'd actually use that as a marketing tool. I'd have a smallish retail side to the shop with bottles of PBL lined up neatly. I'd take the customer in to that part of the shop, and pull out individual bottles to show him/her that their car would be getting their very own, brand spanking new, bottle of products. but what do I know...

The car came out great, Mike. It was a great read. Detailed info on what went down. Lots of pics. Videos...yup, good stuff. Thanks for taking the time to post all that here.

Man that cordless Flex looks AMAZING! Probably not going to happen, but it would be sweet if they released a multi port charger. If I'm doing a 1 step since I'm mobile I'd need enough battery life to finish a car in 1 session. Would need probably 6 batteries to pull that off. From the Ryobi tools I have now, I have 4 batteries but only a single slot charger. So it's a pain to charge all 4 batteries. And the Flex tool + 4-6 batteries + 4-6 chargers would be $$$$$$ lol. I'm guessing the Flex's battery might be a re-brand? So maybe there's a different branded charger that would work? A 4 port bad boy that's technically compatible would be perfect.

I went to Home Depot today to get a new pressure washer. I decided to have a look at the electric tools isle and see how much the batteries cost for there tools.

Milwakee (SP?) had a cordless rotary polisher 600-2400 RPM so I checked the batteries out...

OUCH! The charger with one battery was like 200 CAN$ and a pack of 2 mid-size battery was 240 CAN$! They did not have the large batteries in stock (which is what one would need for polishing) so I expect those batteries must be crazy expensive.

Definatelly an investment if you want to go cordless. I don't know if Flex, Dewalt and other tool companies have much different price points for their batteries but I expect it would be similar cause they very likelly buy the batteries from specialized companies and just stick their brands on them.

One thing to keep in mind now days about Home Depot and electric power tools is that ever since HD acquired Rigid, that is the brand they push and price most aggressively. The one positive about that is that they back up the Rigid tools, incl. batteries, with a no-hassle lifetime warranty. Alas I don't think Rigid makes a polisher.

Problem is, while the internal battery elements may be the same, the various brands purposely differentiate the button and spring design of the battery release, and/or add various "interference" tabs in the molding of the battery housing, to prevent owners of one brand from using the batteries of another brand.

Yes, the batteries are not compatible between brands but what I meant was that inside the battery it is very likelly all coming from one or two large battery companies.

:)

I sure did. Also, the wonderful collection of Monster Trucks in the back that my wife would love to drive!!!

I'd seen the EGO brand before, too. Most likely when researching cordless blowers. Never would have thought EGO and Flex are owned by the same people.

But, I didn't say anything cuz I'm quite sure that is way, WAY out of my price range!

Yeah, same here.

I think that unit is cool as hell, but if it is something I would never consider buying, I usually will not comment.

That power station looks so nice, but with 4 of the biggest batteries it's over $2k. My math skills are horrible, but with 4 7.5Ah batteries it'll have 1,680Wh of power? If that's right that's INSANE! I'm looking at a battery bank thing on Amazon that has internal batteries for $400 and it has around 300Wh of juice. 56 x 7.5 would give the Wh for the 1 of the biggest batteries on the Ego unit right? I'm mobile and don't have a generator (eco conscious) I would love a cordless polisher, but I need something that can charge the batteries while I'm out working. The ego looks perfect, well except the price lol. But if my math's close or something, I could charge 4 6Ah 18v battery with 1 battery on the Ego. But that would still cost like $1,200. And wouldn't have any more power than the $400 one I'm interested in. But, if I could afford it this is one coolest pieces of tech I've seen.

Trying to go generator-less for detailing's difficult and super expensive. I'm teetering on getting a CBEAST when they're released, but the Makita I'm looking at I can get a 4 slot charger. With my laziness when I get home, I think I would be physically incapable of getting 4 batteries charged by the next morning with a single port charger lol. I'm just guessing it would probably take 4 batteries to get a solid one step done.

Before I label it insane, I'll get more information.

My initial thoughts are,

You get what you pay for

Could be that cheaper versions are just as good. Could be that cheaper versions are just that. FLEX is sending me one to test out and along with the Power Station I'll get MORE information about it and about it's competitors.

So stay tuned...
