Disappointing products

Erik Mejia - The TW ICE clay bars are pretty darn good too! Auto Zone had a huge clearance a while back and had their clay bar with QD for .99!! Grabbed all they had.

sportscarhiatus - In some countries they ban people for disliking 105/205!!! just messin.

hmmm....I always hated the Deep Crystal stuff from years back. I'll add that I think DP Wheel Glaze needs a little something extra. Not sure what, but it doesn't seem to reward for the effort I put in.

d/p wheel glaze is one product i neverliked . it seemed very hard to remove. but all other d/p products are great . :xyxthumbs:

4) M205/M105 - maybe it's because I don't use it that much, but the couple of times I did use it, I found that the working time is very short compared to Menzerna. I use Menz stuff all the time now.

How much do you have and do you want to get rid of it? :D

I just wanted to comment about #4

The work time of M105 IS very short because it works in that short amount of time. It isn't necessary to have a long work time with it. It cuts quickly and is done. Menzerna has a much longer work time, but I find it convenient to get the same cut in a shorter amount of time with 105.

M205, however, has a tremendously long work time for finishing....not sure why you experienced something different. Perhaps it was exceptionally hot or dry out?

You might be right. In fact, I know for SURE M105 was extremely short, but M205 I don't recall now if it was short or long. Been a while. But I think I may have mistakenly bundled the two together in judgement because I used them in tandem. But yes, it was very hot and humid. You would think for a shorter work time, I would like M105 more so I get more done in less time. But after being used to Menz stuff, I felt like I was "rushing" to get to all the areas of my panel, and not addressing the swirls adequately. Perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to it...

haha... good thing I don't live in a country where freedom of speech is limited or banned ;)

I bought the 8ozer's I think. But maybe after Final Touch's response above, I might have to giver her another go. Can I use M205 as a substitute for Menz PO85RD as a very light polish using a gray pad? I need to lightly polish the wife's minivan.

Subscribed.

I am not a fan of poorboys spray and gloss. also Poorboys SSR1 sucks nuts.

CCS pads also provide me with a lot of frustration compared to flat pads and hydrotech pads....

Didn't like Optimum Finish. Good working time, but it was a pain in the butt to get off. Never liked Meguiar's Gold Class wax for some reason. Didn't care for Collinite 915 either. Pain to apply and remove, and it wore off almost immediately for me.

Granted, I have never used the flat or hydrotech pads, but I love my CCS's. What frustration are you seeing? I get adequate correction, easy to clean, and last a long time.

I'm surprised at your Collinite 915 statement. Those are supposed to be amongst the most durable waxes out there... slightly less than 476. I just applied 476 in the DD, so we'll see how long she lasts.

The single most dissapointing product I've used is the spray nozzle that comes with the autogeek/gilmour foam guns. Holy CRAP is that a terrible handle. The spray pattern is crazy and it's very difficult to get a wide spray out of it. It's almost mandatory to get a quick disconnect for it to put a different sprayer on.

i unscrew the front portion of the disconnect from the gun (you'll need pliers at first as it's tight) and re-attach it when using it. i find it gives a wider spray pattern and works better overall...

Griots glass cleaner sucks.......I would rather use water in a bottle! I love meguiars concentrate instead.....smells like grape and works well.

A few more...

Engine Gunk Brite Degreaser - left a sticky residue and would not rinse off too well.

Blackfire Midnight Sun - Definitly a waste of money, couldnt tell the difference bewtween it and Meguiars M26.

Invisible Glass - I never understood why so many liked this product. I thought it was average and Meguiars D Line Concentrate was much better.

Meguiars M62 Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner - Feels like you are washing with water and the suds do not last a panel.

My list:

Rejex : While it lasts quite some time, newer products do the same for less.

TW Ice Polish : short longevity, overpriced when new

XMT360 : uneven results (My in-law's Odyssey it looked fantastic, my wife's CR-V not so much). It may be my pad choice (green light polishing on a Cyclo) but I tend to get a lot of dusting.

That being said, I still find uses for the above products

Oh I almost forgot!!!

Wolfgang Auto Bathe!!! That stuff is terrible! Seriously, no foam suds at all. I have NO idea if I got a bad batch or what. It's not like Pinnacle wash or DP extreme foam... I love that stuff with a capful of ONR.

Suds is all for show. As long as the soap is adding lubricity to help prevent marring from washing you're good to go.

Just look at 1Z Perlz, ONR, etc.

Wolfgang Wheel and Tire Cleaner - I could have gotten the job done just as well with soap and water, plus $20 for 16oz is insane.

ONR - works well when the car is clean

FWIW, WG Autobathe did feel a lot less slick that other washes with suds. Hopefully someone else can chime in with their experience with it. It did smell good though... I'll give you that.

Oh and good point with ONR. I do love that stuff and use it as well. But trust me, WG Autobathe was no ONR.

Gold Class Shampoo felt like it had much more lubricity and decent cleaning power.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a bad experience from WG. I thought I just got a bad batch. Right now, I have a bottle sitting on the shelf for 2 years. Maybe I should use it on my rims and tires.

I forgot to add most of the Griots line, its so overpriced it isnt even funny. And the products perform "okay". You can get better results from OTC products like Meguiars or Mothers at half the cost almolst.

No way a pro detailer could afford to go all Griots.

Those Mango towels super thin.
Pinnacle leather conditioner-Didn't do much for my coated seats.
