Disappointing products

WG Instant Detail Spray @ $89 a gallon it is middle of the pack in performance and cant match up with FK 425 at a third the price IMO. CG Jet Seal 109 didnt live up to its hype either.

I bought a package of green plush microfiber towels that are by far the worst product I've purchased from AG.

Erik Mejia - The TW ICE clay bars are pretty darn good too! Auto Zone had a huge clearance a while back and had their clay bar with QD for .99!! Grabbed all they had.

sportscarhiatus - In some countries they ban people for disliking 105/205!!! just messin.

hmmm....I always hated the Deep Crystal stuff from years back. I'll add that I think DP Wheel Glaze needs a little something extra. Not sure what, but it doesn't seem to reward for the effort I put in.
Agree about DP WG. I got it BOGO and gave both away. DG 105 over DG 601 is less work and more durable IME!

Didn't like Optimum Finish. Good working time, but it was a pain in the butt to get off. Never liked Meguiar's Gold Class wax for some reason. Didn't care for Collinite 915 either. Pain to apply and remove, and it wore off almost immediately for me.

What didnt you like about Meguiars Gold Class?

Stick with Chemical Guys M-Seal. It does a fantastic job at a fraction of the price of Jetseal.

Invisible Glass - I never understood why so many liked this product. I thought it was average and Meguiars D Line Concentrate was much better.
Interesting. I'm looking to buy a new glass cleaner and I've read good reviews about Meguiars Detailer line glass cleaner. I'm going to try it.

I don't know. I bought a bottle of the old version, tried it once, and wound up giving it to somebody else. Just didn't sit well with me. Haven't tried the reformulated version, but I personally haven't found a need to. I have Fuzion, Signature Series II, Max Wax, P21S Concours, M26, M16, and Liquid Natty Blue beta, so I'm set on carnauba waxes for quite a while. I still would like to try P21S 100% though.

If you buy a gallon of that stuff, you won't need glass cleaner again for the rest of your life. Seriously, 11 gallons of glass cleaner out of 1 gallon of concentrate? Your grandkids will be using this stuff.

That being said, I love Sprayway glass cleaner as well. Happened to spot it at Wally World by the cleaning stuff for $2.38 a can, so it's nice that I can get it locally if I need to. :xyxthumbs:

I agree with the others about the wolfgang shampoo. I received some free with an order and was definetly underwhelmed by the product so i use it on wheels and my dg wash is for the rest of the car. Another product i really disliked is black wow. I prefer pb trim restored followed by 303

I am wondering if disappointing products =the person using them doesn't know how to use them correctly so they are disappointing. This is what this thread looks like.

:iagree: Granted some of the stuff mentioned does suck. Others I have used with out issue.

Not sure I totally agree with 100% your statement. I think it depends on what the product is. For example, I have asked the forum for some help with some application issues with some spray on sealants since I seem to "over apply" a lot. Still learning. Doesn't mean I don't like the product or am disappointed with the product. I just have to learn how to use.

On the other hand, using products like WG Autobathe isn't rocket science. Squeeze some into a bucket. Add water. Simple. And guess what, it still sucks for me. So though your statement has some merit, please give the people on this forum some benefit of the doubt. We can read and follow instructions. For some of us, we may like the product, for others we don't. To each his own.

I am still enjoying the thread.

I think the new GCCP was a great improvement over the older Gold Class wax. Have you considered purchasing AGHD wax over the P21S 100%? I think you'll enjoy it a bit more, it's easier to use. Plus, if you buy from Walmart it will be cheaper than the P21S.

"one mans garbage is another mans treasure"

The best part of this thread is posters to help others that might have an issue with a product see another way to use it, or hints to make the experience better. Some products are clearly not the best offering, but some do get misjudged and hope is this thread will continue to offer advice and hints which just might remove the product from the bad list and into a different light.

Good point!

That being said, I've been most disappointed with Black Again. I've cleaned the surface with cleaners and applied a thin layer of the stuff and allowed it to sit in the hot California sun for almost two days. Then I'd wipe off any remaining residue and lo and behold, about 4 car washes later it was almost back to normal (faded).

Good points, Scott. Another best part of this thread: If a LOT of (respectable and experienced) people have negative comments about a particular product/s, it saves me $ from buying it and having wasted shelf space for something I will never use.

Oh I almost forgot!!!

Wolfgang Auto Bathe!!! That stuff is terrible! Seriously, no foam suds at all. I have NO idea if I got a bad batch or what. It's not like Pinnacle wash or DP extreme foam... I love that stuff with a capful of ONR.

I had not issues with it. It generates plenty of suds and seems fine at 1 oz to 2.5 gallons or so.

Id have to say XMT360, I've used it twice on light to medium correction work on a onestepper and it was't removing the defects as much as I would liked. I was using with a rotary on a LC Hydro Tangerine pad, I switched to D151 both times and I had much better results...
