Discovered Google Chrome...

Agreed...IE is crazy slow, and is a pop up fiend. I had firefox for a while as well, and was never really THAT impressed with it. Firefox likes to update quite a bit...it's kind of annoying.

Been using chrome for quite sometime, and it's definitely my default browser on all my computers now. Works great!

I see both of the buttons when using Firefox.

Yep, here's a screenshot, the buttons for lengthening your message box do in fact work and so does the Editor Button.

Cool, check it out...

Does Chrome offer these abilities?

Mike,

The text box expander on Chrome is outlined in the red box. For the code view, I'm not sure why it's missing.

Maybe they'll add it down the road?

Firefox is always improving their browser, last time I tried to use it for "work" it just didn't offer the abilities that IE offers or I would use it. I'll give it another try and see if it works as well as IE.

Average person doesn't need the code/editor view option or the ability to stretch out their message box but I really appreciate these features for the kind of posting I do.

Carry on with your discussion...

I actually enjoy chrome more than Firefox, very lite of a browser and having the ability to go incaginto is great.

The only reason why I use firefox over chrome ATM, is to keep the damn flash ads at bay. I haven't found anything that blocks flash for chrome yet so I use firefox for my day to day stuff. For more secure crap like my online banking, payments and ordering crap online I use Chrome.

Flashblock
Adblock
...for Chrome, of course.

I've stopped using IE and Firefox since so many more extensions have become available for Chrome. Then again, I've been using it since I worked at Google, thus a bit of an affinity for anything from there. :)

Ah, I used chrome at the start and never really looked for it, thanks. Will probably switch over to Chrome.

Also just an FYI some website don't fully show up on Chrome or FireFox at times which can make things frustrating when ordering or viewing.

The only thing keeping me from really using Chrome is not being able to drop down the address bar to get to my mostly used websites (yes I know I could just bookmark it and add it to the bar). For some reason it just feels weird not to be able to get a dropdown on the address bar and it throws me off. It's weird, even though I'm a total tech person, software developer, etc. I was still using IE as my primary browser up until maybe 6 months ago. I finally got tired of IE not displaying stuff correctly when I noticed it causing problems with my personal sites (and I'm not using browser specific code either).

When I got a new computer I used IE because it came already installed on it. That got super slow and then downloaded Firefox. Definitely better, but after a while it got worse as well. So I downloaded Chrome and LOVE it. Opens 5x faster than IE and Firefox. Works for me :xyxthumbs:

Just type 1 or 2 letters of the address in the bar and it will almost certainly display where you want to go if you go there frequently. It will also display a few of the top Google search results for those letters.

Oh yeah I know it does that, it's just something about the dropdown that I miss. Maybe because recently 90% of my browsing is just click the arrow to open up the dropdown, click on link, view. So it's just forcing myself to get used to doing it a different way.

way to go.
google is better. leaner, faster, more minimal, more stable.

[ sent from my android fone ] ;)

Chrome is my favorite over Firefox and IE..usually faster and uses less resources. I have liked Opera too but configuring things always did not seem intuitive.

Or, instead of adding it to the bar, why not just create a folder on the bookmarks bar and sticking your "morning coffee" sites in it? I have a list of folders, all based on certain categories, and the sites in those. Keeps me from having to dig through the "Other bookmarks" menu for stuff I'm on regularly, like Autogeek.
