I did an F Type Jag for a gentleman about a month ago or so and he was kind enough to refer a friend of his who also owns a brand new F Type to me for Finest treatment. (I gotta pick better friends so I can own one too!! LOL).

When I saw it I convinced him to have me do the wheels and I'm glad I did but more importantly, so is he. I had described it (without doing the wheels) that it would be like going to a black tie event with unpolished shoes. Needless to say, his shoes got polished. Here it is as it arrived:

I couldn't wait to get at these!!

Even though it's a '17, he's had it since April. It was scheduled for a one step, but I gave it more where it needed it.

First up was to wash the wheels. The barrels were just washed with a Daytona brush and Megs HW to protect the discs. The calipers were cleaned with a small brush and some Zep Citrus, but I held back really going to town on them since I was going to be pulling the wheels anyway. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505. The faces were cleaned with a demoted mitt and Megs HW.

The car was then washed with Megs HW followed by a decontamination wash of IronX paste. That was followed by being clayed with a clay towel. Finally it was blown off with my Master Blaster. After confirming the torque specs, I started on the wheels. Each barrel had an annoying sticker on it which I removed and then it was intensively cleaned with Tarminator followed by DG Squeaky Clean. Here's what one barrel looked like after being cleaned with both:

The barrels were coated with DLux. Here is one just having been coated:

The calipers were also cleaned with Squeaky Clean which really made the yellow JUMP!

The rear wheels had both the yellow and black calipers and both were coated with Dlux:

For the front wells, I cleaned them quickly again with ONR and then coated them with DLux. The wheel was then re-installed and the tire shot with Opti Bond prior to being lowered down. The wheels were torqued to factory spec. Here's one having just been done:

The paint was polished with Essence and a yellow B/S pad + 3401 and, where needed, a black wool TB pad was used + M100. Here are some scratches in the LR 1/4 panel that were quickly dealt with via that combo:

I ended up having to do a few paint chip repairs too. The paint, side and rear glass, head and tail lights were all both polished and coated. The coating was Finest and it received the customary double coat. The windshield was also coated with Fly By Forte. We both had scheduling issues, plus it is due to heavily rain tomorrow, so we decided to deliver it tonight. I had all my lights on so he could thoroughly inspect it and of course all the after shots are inside. Here's how it ended up:

Thanks for looking! Comments are always appreciated.

Very nice. I always enjoy reading your posts.
Thanks very much for letting me know that. I put work into them so people can see what worked (and I always say what didn't) so that we all can learn). I appreciate that you took the time to comment.

Looks great and nice work! I have had this one the last 2 years. Good customer he has me do all his high end vehicles.

Nice, man, nice!! I fell in love with them at the Detroit Auto Show 2 years ago.

Great job. What did you use on the exhaust?
I cleaned it first with wheel acid. I learned that trick years ago and it works wonders! All that was needed after that was a light hand polish with Essence and a mf and then it also got double coated with Finest.

Freaking awesome work dude!!!!
Thanks so very much!!

Finally No front plate! LOL
That Jag looks fantastic now Richy. Great work as always man.

Sir, you never fail to astound! The two pictures of the paint scratches and the crystal clear picture of "after" say it all. This Cat was done by a detailing ARTIST. The owner should be ecstatic, rain or not. I'd be surprised if the car even gets wet in the rain with that glow. It would likely part and rain around it but not on it.

Raising the bar yet again Sir !!

Rick, you are so kind, man! The thing that pisses me off is that it didn't rain today at all, so I could have kept it till the morning and had some early morning sun shots. Bummer!! We didn't end up having to worry about the rain at all.

Thanks so much Kyle! You won't be able to view any past the last 3 as I inadvertently wiped out all my photobucket links to the old ones. Huge bummer!!

Awesome results as always Richy.... thanks for sharing!
