+1 for OPC.
I had what appeared to be oil stains on one of mats. I tried a couple of other cleaners I had, and they didn't make much difference on the stain. I sprayed OPC on the stains, agitated with a carpet brush, and the stain was gone.
A couple of weeks ago, I was touching up a piece of furniture with a dark brown Minwax stain marker. As I was shaking it between uses, the felt tip end flew off! I looked for it and could not find it. I finished touching up the piece with another marker. As I was moving the piece back into place, I found the original tip from the first marker on the brown carpet between the bed and another furniture piece. The tip left a noticeable stain on the carpet. Since it was a stain pen, my initial thought was to leave it because it had been sitting on the carpet for at least 30 minutes and any hope of removing or diminishing the stain had passed. Also, the stain was in an area which is not highly visible (but I'd know it was there).
I decided to try OPC on it to see how it would do but my expectations were not very high. Honestly, I didn't think it would make a difference. I sprayed the stain, let it sit for 30 seconds or so and agitated with a damp cloth. Imagine my surprise when the stain had been lightened! I sprayed again, agitated with a damp cloth and the stain was no longer distinguishable. I was very surprised and pleased. Now, it certainly helped that my carpet is brown and the stain marker was a darker brown so the stain did not have to be completely removed to be effective (just lightened to match the carpet), but I was still very pleased with the results. I wish I had taken before and after pics, but as I mentioned previously I honestly did not think OPC would make a difference on the stain.
I've been impressed with OPC thus far. I use a 3:1 dilution ratio.
