Favorite Spray Wax .... How, Why, Uses ??

CG Synthetic Quick Detailer

What are your thoughts on this product, aside from the fact you've just listed it as a favorite.

I have a 16oz bottle of it, and I've used it sparingly so far. On initial application I find it isn't all that slick (compared to OID, FK425, UWW+), however when I come back a few hours later or next morning, then I notice the slickness is actually pretty good. But I have not tested the so-called antistatic property of it yet.

I'm undecided on how much I like it and whether I would restock it again once my 16oz bottle is gone.

Just for S&G's, I've been thinking about mixing D156 and AW, 1:1 ratio, what do you guys think about this idea?

anybody know if Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax and D156 Synthetic X-Press are the same thing?

I do prefer the V7 better but overall I like it a lot. I mainly use it for when I'm drying the vehicle after a wash and I use the V7 for final wipedown after a detail.

I have mixed, at a 1:1 ratio, the DG AW and D156, so the next time I want to apply another coat of wax to the car I will do it and report back to the group.

how come they have different names?
Because of the ingeniousness of Meguiar's marketing-moguls you have:

Ultimate Quik Wax...Marketed towards the "everyday consumer detailer". (15.2oz)

D156 Synthetic X-Press...Marketed towards the "Professional detailer". (128oz.)

:)

Is it really possible...by equally mixing two different brand-name synthetic spray-sealants...
that the end result would be a spray-wax?

:dunno:

I haven't seen many self polycharged sprays listed here ....

AW stands for Aqua WAX, not sure what Meg's D156 says on the bottle, so combining something that's a WAX and maybe the other being a sealant, which I don't think it is, would make a wax at the end of the day. Combinations that you wouldn't expect working together which did:

1. Peanut butter and Jelly

2. Celery and peanut butter

3. Nutella and peanut butter

4. Diamler and Chrysler....oh wait

5. Turbo AND a Supercharger on an engine

Sometimes you've gotta just put things together and see what happens.....

Experiment away. With the trend of 'homebrewing' waxes and other detailing related products, why not a polycharged spray?

if anything we'll get a result, even if it is no result - that's still a data point that someone can use to help drive future experimentation! :props:

That's for sure!

Unfortunately, terms, in the business I call detailing, are not standardized.

For:
Just as surely that: "Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes", is not a polish...
Products that have labeling that proclaim them as being waxes, actually contain no waxes. :(

Optimum spray wax from October - May then I have to switch to Aquawax do to streaking in the summer months...

I tried out Optimum spray wax. Was easy to apply. After first drive with the car coated in it to work on a sunny day. I got to work parked and looked like a bucket of dust was dumped on my car. It was the biggest dust magnet LSP I have used to date..Returned that gallon for D156 and was just as easy to use plus can use in direct sun that same drive to work after it was applied on a sunny day the car had about 70% less dust build up compared to optimum.

So like I said I ended up mixing Meg's D156 w/ DG AW, 1:1 ratio and used it on the CRZ this past Sunday after a little tour of Route 66, gotta get the bugs off of the car!

First impressions were that the citrus smell of D156 trumped DG's AW smell that I describe as Coppertone-esque'. When spraying the product onto the car I noticed less white and a more clear mist, so here the DG AW thinned out the D156 a bit but that's to be expected as D156 is more white and DG AW is more clear/light blue in color. Now for the result:

FLAWLESS FINISH!!!

It layed down very easy, used the DG AW spray bottle and wiping it in was NO problem, came off nice w/o any streaking at all! I actually expected great results as these are 2 great products, only thing that was an unknown was would they mix together and work together but I can report back to the class that they did and do!

I'm glad I did for sure and look forward to getting more of each of these products in the future!

+1 for Duragloss AW. I layered it on top of WGDGS 3.0 and the Mustang literally looked like it was melting.

can someone explain the diff. in Ultimate Quik Wax and Ultimate Quik Detailer?

and is the Ultimate Quik Wax actually a sealant?
