Finally ordered the steamer!

The bus in the front is the exact bus I did (not for the pic though, looks better now lol!)........

I used a DRYWASH method (which many on here think is garbage, but the man is super impressed and has tossed me a bus already for next week) ......

Exterior took myself and one of my guys roughly 2 hours.....

Interior took us about 3 hours (granted my mop was soiled from sealing a rubber roof on an RV a couple of hours prior to this bus.... so we did the floor by hand after sweeping). Plus we were exhausted from a long day lol - bus next week will be done first thing in the morning for sure! We took our time on this - to ensure a future client.

I made $300 on this bus.

LOL - I know you hate the ladder Kris lol!!! I like the profit of the day though :dblthumb2:....... profit of around $385 after everything (employee, taxes, product)...... and I didn't have to take my clothes off!!!

Thats a descent day in Tennessee by the way guys...... cost of living = minuet here

It's true. Anything involving dragging a ladder around...count me the hell out! lol

Even though I do RVs. I actually don't mind an RV day, it can actually be relaxing only having to worry about one big vehicle. Plus the customers tend to leave you alone cause they appreciate the fact that someone even wants to do it, haha. :xyxthumbs:

I still want one of those drum polishers though. That way I don't need a ladder. I've seen some used for about $600. Someday....

Did you use the VX5000 to drywash the exterior, or did you use something like Optimum No Rinse for your exterior drywash? I'm looking at steam machines to use on the exterior and getting mixed information from manufacturers, so I thought the best info would be from someone actually using the machines.

NOT the STEAMER!!! Couldnt imagine that working well timewise! I used a drywash - Actually did that same bus today again :dblthumb2:

That steamer looks like a beast. Is there any cheaper steamer that does a good job?

Ok, that seems to be the answer I'm getting on using a steamer for the exterior--great on interior, not so great for exterior.

The reason I keep asking about steamers is because I'm in a spot that I can't have a lot of water runoff, so some of the online videos of steamer machines doing exterior washing looked appealing. But maybe a drywash would be a better way to go.

This might be a silly question, but I'm a newbie here, both in the "forum" world and in detailing....many times when someone says they're using a product, they want to disclose it by pm and not in a post....is this because this is Auto Geek forum and they might not sell the product, or because you possibly don't want your competition to know what you're using? (you can pm me the answer, lol!)

I pm out of respect for AG..... I could give my neighbor my method and there would still be 100,000 potential clients untapped between the 2 of us lol in the town Im in....... What I am saying is I have no secrets. Unfortunately if you give secrets out here you may be ridiculed if the secret doesnt have a brand name attached!

I have owned my VX for all of 2 weeks now and after the initial turtles pace cleaning to see how it will effect or react on interiors I am amazed.I noticed that when I use no chemicals on leather seat cleaning to remove that blueness/dye that transfers from jeans to leather seats I used a terry around the large triangle head and didnt see any difference in seat condition so I then switched over to a micro cloth and it pulled the dye out so quickly.As the last step I cut down Woolite pet stain remover 75% water 25% chemical and that took it out of the stitching.

Angle tip and micro cloth to remove coke stains from the head liner and delicate sun shade moon roof covering,just lightly blot on them as they are very fragile.

This was performed on a 2010 Ford Edge Limited SUV.
