louieT said:So would the P21s over Zaino be considered Glaze over Sealant???![]()
killrwheels@autogeek said:it would be considered a carnuaba (wax) over a paint sealant.
And this below from message #10abrcrombe said:A glaze is a product that has lots of fillers. It makes the shine look deeper and wetter, and fills in little scratches and reduces their appearance. They have no protective qualities, so you will want to top it with a wax or sealant. Preferably a wax, because topping with a sealant may cause some bonding issues. 2 of the best glazes are Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze and Clearkote Red Moose Glaze.
BILL said:A glaze over a sealer acceptable?? but a sealer over glaze a no, no.
Got itthanks again:cheers:
abrcrombe said:There is still confusion. Members say that a glaze over a sealant is ok, but you can't put a sealant over the glaze. AG website says that glazes have no protective qualities, so you need to top with a sealant or wax.

I want to say, it all depends. You can't always put a sealant on top of glaze and you can't always have the sealant under the glaze. Things we know for sure is that you can put wax over the glaze with amazing results. My experiment is I am doing Sealant, Glaze, then Wax. I will post what happens.

What is a glaze?
I am tring to learn this crap to improve my overall look of my paint.. I want super wet look...:righton:
jforget1 said:It allows you to skip a step if you want to just pre-wax and a sealant or pre-wax, glaze and then a wax, can do the wax over the sealant too but not needed. Sounds like the method is a little harder but really make it kick.
I think starting out I may do 3 levels,
I can do different options if someone knew a lot about detailng and may add for a different set. Does this seem like a decent plan to start a side buiness. Just plan on doing 1 or 2 a week. Just want to grab a few hundred bucks a week.
- just a quick detail spray wiped with a towel.
- Pre wax cleaner, deep gloss sealant and finishing detail spray.
- Claying, Pre wax cleaner, glaze and a carnuaba wax and finishing detail spray.
I am already planning on getting a PC 7424, foamgun, edge 2000 pad kit, some poorboy suds and a Wolfgang Deep Gloss Concours Kit. I want to add a metro vac/blow and some Wolfgang Swirl Remover. Seem like a decent start?
abrcrombe said:By 3 levels do you mean three types of washes? You are going to charge someone to wipe down his car with QD? I think that if you want to start a business, you need to start small and perfect our technique first. You won't get a PC and be a pro with it right away. It all takes time my friend. Good luck though!
