I have always liked working with bigger guns .... Corsa Sports 2-tip. :awesome:

Question within a question???

So would the P21s over Zaino be considered Glaze over Sealant???

it would be considered a carnuaba (wax) over a paint sealant.

So the Zaino system uses a sealant as a LSP? I don't know anything about Zaino.

Sorry...:)

What is a glaze?

I am tring to learn this crap to improve my overall look of my paint.. I want super wet look...:righton:

A glaze is a product that has lots of fillers. It makes the shine look deeper and wetter, and fills in little scratches and reduces their appearance. They have no protective qualities, so you will want to top it with a wax or sealant. Preferably a wax, because topping with a sealant may cause some bonding issues. 2 of the best glazes are Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze and Clearkote Red Moose Glaze.

A glaze over a sealer acceptable?? but a sealer over glaze a no, no.

Got it ;) thanks again:cheers:

There seems to a confusion here at least by me. What again is the layering steps when using a glaze and/or sealant.

Can someone clarify.

There is still confusion. Members say that a glaze over a sealant is ok, but you can't put a sealant over the glaze. AG website says that glazes have no protective qualities, so you need to top with a sealant or wax.

I want to say, it all depends. You can't always put a sealant on top of glaze and you can't always have the sealant under the glaze. Things we know for sure is that you can put wax over the glaze with amazing results. My experiment is I am doing Sealant, Glaze, then Wax. I will post what happens.

Layering is putting down additional layers of product to enhance the look and maybe durability........but as far a wax layering?? i think the rewards are diminishing.......

And i did U.P.P. Sealer over 3M hand glaze topped with souveran for a real nice wet look......

So if my way works, then I think we can conclude that you can use glaze/sealant/wax and sealant/glaze/wax. It probably won't work for ALL combinations, but it may be safe to say, give it a try and it should work. You wouldn't be wasting your time, shooting in the dark for a killer combo, because we have results in both techniques.

So basically it is that if you are going to the trouble to use a glaze then cover it with true wax and if not use a deep gloss sealant or at least that will be my starting plan. I think i have it now.

Definitely. It is much easier to just go one route, Glaze/Wax or Sealant by itself. You could even put wax on top of the sealant.

It allows you to skip a step if you want to just pre-wax and a sealant or pre-wax, glaze and then a wax, can do the wax over the sealant too but not needed. Sounds like the method is a little harder but really make it kick.

I think starting out I may do 3 levels,
  1. just a quick detail spray wiped with a towel.
  2. Pre wax cleaner, deep gloss sealant and finishing detail spray.
  3. Claying, Pre wax cleaner, glaze and a carnuaba wax and finishing detail spray.
I can do different options if someone knew a lot about detailng and may add for a different set. Does this seem like a decent plan to start a side buiness. Just plan on doing 1 or 2 a week. Just want to grab a few hundred bucks a week.
I am already planning on getting a PC 7424, foamgun, edge 2000 pad kit, some poorboy suds and a Wolfgang Deep Gloss Concours Kit. I want to add a metro vac/blow and some Wolfgang Swirl Remover. Seem like a decent start?

The new Zaino Z5Pro with some Z6 used between layers and a coating of Z8 afterwards looks plenty glossy. I dont know that a glaze (like Megs 7 would do much better) but I would consider topping with Souveran prior to trying glaze. Souveran offers better depth and wetness than Z still, but is nowhere near as durable. The ultra wet combo lately seems to be Red Moose Glaze and Souveran ....

lots of nice Souveran pics ...

By 3 levels do you mean three types of washes? You are going to charge someone to wipe down his car with QD? I think that if you want to start a business, you need to start small and perfect our technique first. You won't get a PC and be a pro with it right away. It all takes time my friend. Good luck though!

I meant the first one as part of a basic interior/exterior cleaning. I am looking to start slow and just earn some extra money mainly on the weekends, if things happen down the road, once I have some clients and more experience, we will see from there.

Sorry to drag an old thread up, but it does show I know how to use 'SEARCH' :)

I to am in the same boat as the OP ie what to learn and upgrade the products I use and improve the final result.

I have just watched 'How-To use the PC for Showcar results' by some unknown guy named Mike Phillips and in the last section of the video he used # 7 to 'give a deep wet look' to the car.

He used the Glaze over WAX and I am wondering how it will work over WG DGPS?

I am thinking of # 7 (inexpensive) or ClearKote RMG.
