Griots Garage 3 inch HD Backing Plate

Arbor? Are you talking about the bolt size? I thought the 5/16” thread size was the same for both. That the GG6 and GG3 are the same. I've never taken my GG3 plate off before. I guess I'd better check for myself. People have said both in the various threads about the this GG 3" HD backing plate.
It was said that it may not be a good idea, but not that it would not work.

I want one anyways for the GG6. I'll just order one and try it on my GG3 myself to see what it is like.
I think it will work but might throw off the balance as people have said and as the listing it self I believe says it's been balanced to be used on the gg6

Black BP looks cooler. I use white tape... I don't mark the bp on the g15 cause I use light to no pressure.

I used the new backing plate on my last job and it was fantastic! The new three-inch Boss pads work very well too.

The ghosting from an RT badge was removed with a white three-inch Boss pad.

I'm very happy with the new backing plate and pads.

This 3" HD backing plate can me used with the Boss G21 or G15? Im looking for a 3" polisher and even if i want the Rupes mini, a G21/15 with this BP is more affordable and versatil than just the Rupes Mini (or a Duetto with the kamikaze BP)

I thought long and hard about getting a Rupes Mini for smaller panels, but decided to try the new Griot's Boss three-inch backing plate and pads first. There's no way I'm going to get a Rupes Mini now because the GG6 works so well with this system. In regard to the G21 and G15, I don't think they're compatible with the three-inch backing plate - even if you did manage to marry the plate to the tool the weight and balance seems like it would be quite off kilter.

No, it cannot be used with the G15/G21.

It fits standard 8mm DA polishers such as PC, HF, GG6, MT300.

Thanks for the answer, i kinda expect theyre werent compatible, but i didnt lose anything asking....

The problem for me is that im not in the US, and some products are more difficult to get, i can purchase localy a Rupes Mini (or any Rupes polisher) but the cost is high (same price that is sold here, but, still $300usd) Amazon sell the griot 3" imported at third the price, but, no warranty (or at least not in the way of the Rupes).

I was planning of buy a G21 or G15, and attach this or another small BP compatible (and have 2 polishers in the same package), i think i will go for the Rupes Mini.

Finally my order came in. That 3 inch BP is super duper heavy duty! You could knock somebody out with it.

I received my 3" BP and pads last week but like a previous poster, I've misplaced my wrench to the GG 6". I have a job coming up on Wednesday, where can I get a replacement wrench?

You lost the wrench? You're screwed! Pun intended. Lol.

I used my new GG3" HD backing plate on my HF DA today to restore these headlights and also polish all the thin strips and pillars on this truck today.

Worked pretty good. I wish there was a way to measure friction and vibration while using the polisher.

You need a 14mm cone wrench. Check a local bicycle shop.

Received mine the other day, very nicely made, already converted my GG6 to the 3". Ready to use it:)

The GG 6" metal housing is too large. You can't even see the backing plate when polishing. The Harbor Freight DA is more powerful and has a smaller housing.
