Mark here-

Finally got to use a garage and my Christmas toys...

Process took about 13 hourd with a little help from a friend. This is my first machine correction.

I used:

++Orange LCC pads 5-6 passes with Meg Ultimate Compund. I liked the combo working time was really good with minimal dusting.
++White LCC pads 2-4 passes with Meg Ultimate Polish. Nice polish not excessively great, but was enhancing paint.
++Blue LCC pad for AG wax. Grat wax came off ral nice and left nice shine. Used this over Liq. Souvern and Meg Liq. Wax. RReviews made me try it out...

Okay that is enough for now lol. Like I said lots of fun. Would love you pros to offer feedback.

Stubborn findings:

Metal parts in engine bay what to use?
Tarminator was big help, but need more power still any suggestions? I let it sit 1-2 mins.
Fabric for seats need better cleaner

Thanks!:props:

My arms hurt!:buffing:haha

Truck looks great!!!! Good Job :dblthumb2:

is that megs polish new and is just a paint cleaner or a finish polish and good work

Yes the polish is new and a great micro polish for small budget detailers thx everyone!

Truck looks great buddy, especially for your first time! I know of a great upholstery cleaner but its not sold here. If I'm allowed, I will PM it to you. Anyone know if i can do that?

Yeah I was pretty happy with it. It is my DD so I know it won't be perfect especially since its 8 years old and I am the 3rd owner.

In the 5th picture you show some gnarly scratches. Were you able to eliminate those? Looks very nice.

Nice work. Truck looks great!

I'm curious though why you used 3 waxes. (Pinnacle Souv Liq, Meg's Liq, AG HD)

No, Unfortuatley the previous owners did who knows? I don't have experience wet sanding or a rotary which is probably required. I found through the process I eliminated many swirls and minor scratches but rock chips and RIDS stand out more clearly.

I had the choice of those 3 and went with the AG HD. I was going to do all Megs, but I really wanted to try the AG.

Thanks guys!:props:

I think you did a great job! Yeah detailing makes your whole body sore lol!

Thanks guys...

what settings do you use generally for medium swirled paint on your polisher for compound, micro polish, wax, etc.?

Ive got a GG polisher too...love it...lots of power for a DA. For settings...with compounding i almost always go with 5-6...depending on the panel shape. If its easy to control..like on a hood or totally flat surface...i go with 6...if its a 'curved' area or an area where i may be passing over a section where the WHOLE pad wont be in contact with the paint for a second while i pass over...i kick it down to 5 or 5.5...just because ive had a couple times where 6 was too strong and it started to move the pad a little off center from the backing plate...andddd i didn't want it to get slung across the garage :).

For wax...3 is typical for spreading wax...you're not doing any correction so you dont need any cut....and incase you dont know..you can make super fast passes when you're spreading wax..you dont have to have slow arm speed like when polishing/compounding.

I've gotten real good results from Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax. They are pretty darn good for "consumer" products!
