I have. I posted a blinded review of those silica coatings. I liked them. I wasn't sure how long it would be before I redid the hood, so I put Polish Angel High Gloss on the hood for now. Using quartz Max also.

There's a guy I know who told me that Nufinish is all I need and it works and it makes the car look great. I looked over at his swirled out car with clearcoat failure and just nodded and said if you say so. Meanwhile I'm parked next to him with my polished and coated car and just shrugged. Now he says I'm the most anal person he knows when it comes to cars.. but I'm sure there's autogeekers on here that would put me to shame haha..

There is always somebody more excessive than the other but that's okay.

From The Gyeon website:

"While use of GYEON WaterSpot can affect the hydrophobic properties of the coating, so a coating of GYEON Boost or GYEON WetCoat may be in order. Avoid leaving GYEON WaterSpot on paint or glass for prolonged periods of time."
Well, that answers the OP question. A good product if you want to strip an LSP. :)

Well, for sure.

I put some PA High Gloss on and the car got wet today. Beading and sheeting are back, and now I can conclude it is all PA doing that part of the protection. No idea how much Mohs is left.

Interesting Post, and conclusion.

Really great info here, Kevin.

The Carpro Spotless did a number on a car with PBL V1 coating and PBL Glass coating that I tried it on. You could barely tell there was any LSP on the panels that had the spot treatment.

Why not try some Essence Plus to "revive" the Mohs? Could then top it up with some Moonlight...

Although the hydrophobic properties may have been changed by the spot remover your protection is likely still fine. Essence Plus may help to restore it.

Another good idea.

However, at this stage I've already put the PA on the hood and it's beading again. I do have Essence Plus that I've used for minor swirls. It would have been a great first try. :(

I think the lesson I've learned here is that whether the spot remover is washed away or wiped away, there's a serious risk that you can lose your hydrophobic properties after the fact. The manufacturer does in fact state this, so it is my fault for not paying attention to this [I read that it can be used on a coated car, but I overlooked (ignored?) the warning about the hydrophobicity]. It's said a Booster can be used, but now I wonder how long this Booster will last and how often I'll have to apply it. When the hydrophobicity fails again, does it need a refresher boost or does it need a new coating because that is gone as well? With published durability of 1-2 years, I'm already in that window.

Bummer.

But a booster is good to use on a coating every other month though, agree?

Absolutely. The more I think about it, a booster should make the coating last longer. Why? It will take the brunt of the beating and not the coating. With a booster, the hydrophobic effects will be that of the booster, not the coating, but it should be similar. I'd definitely stay within the same company for coating and booster applications.

Opps, too late

Well I bought three products and they are definitely not made by Wolfgang but I have not applied any of them yet. I plan on applying the lightest version this Friday after I wash my car.
