hard clear

thanks kris, i mean, i figure if you could go from 105 orange to 205 white i could do the same with menz super finish. you think i will get the same gloss finish with SIP as i would with super finish?

I just went and read the descriptions for both Menz products just to answer this, haha.

But, without ever actually using these products...I would have to give you an educated guess, and say yes. I think you'd get the same results with Super Finish.

It seems to me that the main difference between the two is Nano Technology. Which I don't think will make ALL that much of a difference for you. Maybe less dusting with the Super Finish...but same results I would THINK.

Nobody give me crap...I'm guessing here cause nobody is helping him! I'm no Menz pro. lol :bolt:

thanks kris always great help brother. well see what others have to say when they chime in..

also, could I use the DA with d301/mf finishing pad instead of using my rotary with a white pad?? remember, the DA did NOTHING to this clear, but since im just refining what ive done , would it be a good choice? I personally dont think so lol. im just trying to get the car polished/waxed and be finished with this hard clear lol

I always give the DA a shot, but for correction most the time I'm busting out the rotary on that harder clear. The DA has it's limits IMO.

But yeah, if you wanted to follow up with the finish MF pad and the finish wax...that should knock out two steps in one. That is if you want to go that route. It will save you time, and product.

I would run a test spot first, see how it looks. Take it in the sun and check it out. If all goes well, I say carry on. Sounds like you've had quite a run with this vehicle already...if you can take a shortcut, and not sacrifice quality...then by all means.

If you find that you're not removing the compound haze, try using the cutting MF disc with the Finish Wax. It will give you a bit more edge.

Do you know if the car is a respray or not? I've worked on E36 M3s before and the clear was average, not soft or hard. In general the E36's aren't hard at all. Just wondering.

the car has never been resprayed or detailed. its just one of those cars... lol.

i went with super finish because i have ran wayyyy past my time limit on this car... im at 21 hrs already.... i still got about another 4 hrs to go.. but super finish did do its job, im going to follow that up with megs d301 in mf finishing pad after i pull the car out and wash it and take out any residue i left behind.. i wanted to coat with wolf gang fuzion but i know with the mf/'d301 it will refine anything else i missed if i missed anything.. and then a month later i will get the car back for a follow up wash and ill throw on fuzion :)

you think i will get the same gloss finish with SIP as i would with super finish?
I'd say super finish would finish better. :dblthumb2:

Menz POWER finish is awesome because it cuts almost as good as SIP and finishes almost as good as SF.

marky markkkkk whats up dude? i will have photos up later

I'd give anything to have hard clear coat again!

It's not the greatest product out there, but Meg's DACP did wonders on my old Camaro, back when GM had really tough clear coat. It took a little time but it most definitely removed all of the swirls.
