HELP, water spots on C.Quartz

Alright well i will check and see before i go to polishing the whole truck like this. If it wasnt for the waterspots i would drool over the coating. If i only knew about not to let tap water sit on there before i acually did it. NOBODY ever mentioned it ha. We might have just saved many people a bunch of elbow grease!

You will get water spot etchings no matter what sealant, wax, or coating you use if you allow hard water to dry for days on your paint. The only difference that you may find is how difficult they are to remove.

Thanks for sharing your update publicly Tad! I really appreciate all of the information you have shared on your experiences with Cquartz. As I mentioned to you previously I have not had any issues with removing water spots but after what we talked about and seeing this thread I was starting to fear I had just been lucky. Excellent news and major :props: to you for letting everybody in on the whole story. :dblthumb2: Buddy!

Any spots I have had from rain and dirt buildup have washed of with my regular wash... no extra effort required and no remnants of water spots. I have not however had any experience leaving tap water on the paint without drying.

Btw: Stop polishing paint to the level that you do! I'm going to have to get a pair of sunglasses just for reading your posts. Im the MAN

Hi
first thing, reload is silica based as well , but not at all as Cquartz since its water carrier. so the formula is different.
water spots will etch any coat , including OC ! if you have any doubt about that, it will merge with PPS Teflon coat as well, the question is on which coat/sealant/wax you will have less! you are forgeting the other properties you getting with our coat which i dont think you get in any conventional protectants.
and still we are strongly working on this small problem with very possible way to solve it.

Avi,

With all do respect, Opti-Coat is not a nano product and does not etch by environmental contaminants that are acidic or caustic. It is in fact very resistant to etching with bird droppings, etc. based on the testings we have done over the past seven years.

Just to set the record straight, Opti-Coat is a clearcoat that is not removed by solvents such as IPA or prepsol, or with detergents such as dawn. There is no need to use boosters or other products to increase the longevity and as long as it is not polished off, it will continue to protect the automotive finishes.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you.

David,

Hi
Sorry for my late reply,
not sure vinegar will help here,
seems you had some kind of acid rain which merged in the coat.
its not because of your washing , i think it happen before the wash , while raining.
the way to remove it is by using wax clean product,
like this product :

all in one polish, car polish wax, cleaner wax, best car wax polish, Klasse All In One, one step polish wax, AIO wax, AIO paint sealant
use by hand , buff and wipe off

it will not affect the cquartz! no need to worry about that..

we are working now to make the cquartz more acid resistance so this wont happen again,
using reload after cquartz application will help preventing this in the meantime.

hi Avi..

will it take time till the new product or an upgraded product is introduced?Feed back please

It will take some time , but it will be the same product, such as improved.. not new product.

Tried AQuartz today, and after using CQuartz on 5 cars(Makes the paint look incredible though) I got the same performance as CQuartz but MUCH easier to use...not even close.

How could it be any easier than CQuartz???

Well........I did my Tacoma X-Runner in 10 minutes, you can spray Re-Load on like that but not the CQuartz first application and CQuartz streaks like a "Badboy" on clearfilm which at least 85% of my customers have on thier cars including my personal cars.

I'm confused, are you using Reload over Aquartz?

No AQuartz sprays on like re-load, you spray a moistened microfiber towel with the AQuartz then wipe down the panel, then take a second dry microfiber and buff it off that easy.

Doesn't AQuartz have a second application product?

a curing accelerant similar to polycharger in Aquartz+ then Reload. now Reload is labelled a sealant to put over the coating, while Aquartz+, a polish.

caution is still needed for its application. follow the instructions though there is a variety of it in the net. 1x1' is my advice. Lucky all you with the 80ml bottles et moi ;)
