I did apply for a lease yesterday. Got a smokin deal on it for $332/mo and now can clean out my other storage unit, put it in there and now have a garage to work in. I'm pushing a 6 month lease, but she says they want a 12 month, but I'll find out later this week. Wish me luck.

Wow! Got pictures? That is a seriously smokin deal!

Its turned into a seriously horribly ran business. I have been getting a run around for almost 3 week because they are trying to use a new company to run credit checks. I am willing to pay them money per month and they cant seem to find a company who can run a credit check? WOW! Either way I have decided to call their corporate offices and speak with someone directly. The manager has never once picked up the phone to call me after she promised to call me back over and over again. Sorry to vent, but this is just bad management for U-Store-It!

All I want to do is detail my car and post pictures on here! :awesome:

I can say that I am truly amazed with the Wolfgang TSR 3.0. I thought my paint was ruined, but now looks like a new paint job! Big :dblthumb2:

Awesome results and good job capturing the after shots. I've placed the before and after below in line for everyone that will ever read this thread to see the amazing transformation.

Just to re-cap, from your first post on page 1 of this thread, this was the first time you used a Porter Cable 7424XP and the Wolfgang Twins?

I got a 350Z at a very good price with a very bad detail. These pictures make me sick! lol

I just bought a porter cable 7424 PX, Wolfgang Total swirl remover 3.0, finishing glaze, orange light cutting pad and gray finishing pad, Wolfgang Deep gloss paint sealant, and Wolfgang instant detailing spritz.

Will these products accomplish the goals I am looking for. I am also open to new suggestions to try. Thank you!

I think your after shots and your comments tell the entire story and answer our own question.

Nice work and great follow-up.

:dblthumb2:

Thanks Mike for doing all that! Yes it was my first time using the PC. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you for the follow-through and the follow-up!

In fact, you led me to create a new photo gallery for before and after pictures for swirls...

Swirls Before and After

And I'm confident that others will read your thread and it will inspire them to follow your steps to success!

Win/Win all the way around.

Looks like she turned out great! Well done! :dblthumb2:

sorry to hear that you are getting the run around. I hate when people do that. As much as it might suck, those are the types of people you do not want to do business with.

Exactly, but I have been reassured by corporate that things will be ok. I finally got the ok on the building and hopefully start moving in this weekend! :dblthumb2:

Nice work indeed! I would have started with the Orange pad to make things a little faster, but that is just me! I have worked with the 350z paint before and it is not the easiest or hardest paint to work with kinda in the middle.

Awesome! That's great news man . . . . . just keep your eyes and ears open. Everything should be fine though. Toss up some picture's

Very nice turnaround!

Reminds me of a Hyundai Elantra I just did last weekend that belongs to a friend's Mom. It was a similar color to your car. It's a 2003 and had never been waxed. As you can imagine, there was a ton of contamination, swirls, scratches, etc.

My process was clay, XMT #3 with orange pad and Pinnacle AFP with white pad. LSP was Collinite 845. The XMT #3 did a very good job at removing the swirls. Pinnacle AFP jeweled the paint amazingly well (it has been a while since I've used AFP since I tend to use Menzerna products). From certain angles, the paint looked black rather than deep blue. Other than the usual stone chips in the paint, the car looked new.

It's awesome to see others having the same successes. This job was for the low price of my friend feeding me pizza (I'm cheap, I admit it!), but the feeling of seeing the look on his Mom's face made the hours of work very worthwhile.

Bringing this thread back...

I just went over the car again with the TSR, Finishing glaze, paint sealant and will put on Souveran tomorrow and post up the new pics. From the lighting in the warehouse I was very impressed. Tomorrow is gonna be a sunny day! :-) Taped off half of the hood for a good side by side comparison.

The only problem I seemed to have was with the white pad and the Finishing glaze. It seemed to soak up into the pad and the pad had a hard time trying to spin on 5.0 or 6.0. When I cleaned the pad in my grit guard pad washing bucket, it seemed to just soak up water and not want to dry? Any suggestions? Thanks! :xyxthumbs:

It must really be saturated because the PC 7424XP has plenty of power to rotate a dry pad.

After you clean the pad by pumping it up and down against the Grit Guard Insert you then lift the polisher up inside the bucket, with the lid still closed and turn the polisher on and let centrifugal force sling most of the excess water out of the foam pad.

After that you can squish any excess water still in the pad into a clean, 100% cotton terry cloth towel. Cotton absorbs water really well so that's why I use, you can try microfiber if you like also.

See the category for Good Cotton Towels

The 4 minimum categories of wiping cloths

Slinging water out with a DA Polisher doesn't work as well as if you're using a rotary buffer so that's why you have to help a little with a dry towel.

dunston. what's the latest on the shop . . . . . did it ever work out for you to move into that area?

Thanks Mike, I guess I must have used too much product. It just seemed really thick and tacky after shaking the bottle over and over again. As for cleaning the pad, when I Would spin it on 5.0 it almost seemed like the pad was going to fly off. I even tried re-centering the pad with the same results and after holding it there for 60+ seconds on high, I could still ring out water from it. None of the other orange or gray pads I used were like that.

I got it all taken care of finally. Got all my stuff in there, just need a few more 8ft shop lights to brighten it up. :)

Yeah, that sounds about right. It's not a perfect system for drying pads after cleaning them, in fact I've never taught this as a good practice until coming to Autogeek but it can be done, it's just not very efficient like a rotary buffer.

That's interesting.

Makes you wonder why?

+1 on the terry towels. I put the pad on the towel. Wrap it up, then stand on it for a few seconds while moving my feet to get every area. Sounds stupid, but I feel that my 265 lb self can get more water out that way than squeezing with my fingers.

If I have to reuse the pad that detail, I will then throw it on the polisher and sling it out just for about 5-10 seconds.

Works liek a charm everytime.

glad that it got all cleared up. Post some pics up of the shop. Must be nice to be able to locate places for a decent price. Everything here is well over $1,000 a month + elec + cam fee's
