How many waxes do you have?

Half the stuff on this thread aren't waxes. For that matter what the hell is a wax anymore?

Very true. most people don't understand if you tell them "all in one, protectant, sealant, coating" etc. wax is a generic term used in my opinion for anything that protects the paint from the environment.

Past the point of counting. Ones I can think of....Son1c wax carnubavore, breast in show & 7 betas, BFWD, SSII, zymol carbon, zymol vintage sample, Natty's red, 3D paste, HD speed, Werkstat Prime Strong, Blacklight, OCW, migliore presidential sample, 4 star spray wax, D156, Reload, C2v3, Quartz max, DG AW, BF midnight sun spray wax, hydro2, hydro2 lite.

So at least 30, well over 40 if I actually organized things in storage.

Rarely as a drying aid for my car and my wife's. Its not durable... Both our cars are coated (Gtechniq and 22PLE).

When I do other cars, I usually send them out with HD Speed or use Powerlock or WGDGPS 3.0.


Just not a wax kind of guy...

Our 'Practice car' has had all of these in the last month. Try it, think it can be shinier, polish/compound it off...try new one.
Got Collinite 845 in my sights along with the 476 for upcoming winter.

Not that many compare to others.

Are they different, yeah, but why not describe them in the most simple and understandable way?
The way I define them:

Wax-has natural carnauba.

Sealant-synthetic wax, I.e. no carnauba. Usually longer lasting, and stronger, protection than a wax.

Coating-long lasting(18months-ish+), super durable protection.

That's just my personal way of defining them and describing them to others, I think it's pretty easy to understand.
