How to keep pad spinning on angled surfaces?

I'm still within the 90 day return guarantee period with the Porter Cable, do you guys think it would be worth it to exchange it for a GG DA6? I hear the pad almost never stops spinning. But I do like knowing the quality I get with the PC. I will only be doing my car and my parents 3 cars. So low volume.

Get the G110v2. :dblthumb2:

I think that has even less power than the XP?
No way! Much better power than tbe XP! It feels a bit more bulky in my hands, but not a big deal to me. IF you can get a Griot's that performs like it supposed to, it's great, but I've bought three, and 2 of them were weaker than the first one. I'd say that's poor quality control.

Yeah I have heard about those quality control issues with the Griots but I thought the Meguiars was 4.2 amp compared to 4.5 for the XP?

Take the amp readings with a grain of salt. The G110v2 has a "cruise control" feature that when you put pressure, the motor compensates and adds more power.

Thanks Bobby for the explanation. I don't use my PC or DA often so I never noticed the difference.
Ron,

It does sound strange because naturally if you have no pressure at all the pad spins freely.

There also seems to be a range where just some, or light downward force keeps the pad oscillating but not spinning. Adding additional pressure with the pad flat seems to start the pad rotating again.

This was also more of an issue when I was using the 6 1/2" pads.

On my first generation Porter cable 7424...
