I am perplexed, Buffing/pads

Does anyone have an insight on the Rupes, should I go 15 or 21? Seems like 21 would be hard to work with.

Go with the Duetto! Being as you already have the big forced rotation of the 3401, why not go with the LHR12 as your more 'flexible' machine. ;) Take a look at my show and shine thread on the Camry we did last weekend. That car was THRASHED and it was done start to finish with the Duetto, a yellow Rupes pad and Megs D300. (Bumpers and rockers were done with a GG6 with a 4" orange LC CCS pad by CarMomma.) However, everything else was done with the new Duetto.

You don't have to worry about the washer mod, don't have to worry about the larger machine, don't have to worry about changing out the backing plate to get the larger machine to work with a smaller pad, just use a 5½" or 6" pad and crank it up. It can be run literally with one hand. It'll correct great, has great balance, and doesn't vibrate near as bad as the PC or GG6. (Which after all day running it your hands sure know the difference!) :props:

Awesome thank you

You're welcome. :props:

Jus' bring that Z06 down this way and we'll have a spin at it with the GG6 and the LHR12E and you can decide which one you like the best. Meanwhile we can find some curvy country roads to see which ones work best 'under foot'. :D

As hard as the paint is on both that one (and the Camaro) I'm betting you might just like the GG6 better. It doesn't stop for ANYTHING! Shape of body panel doesn't really come into play so much as you would think. Yet I know with the 15 & 21 you have to really watch convex and concave panels. Even with the 12E you have to be on your toes, but it rewards you with MUCH less vibration and is easier to handle for hours on end. Where the GG6 you just put whatever pad you want on it and let it rip. Thick, thin, fat, skinny, big or small and you really don't have to turn it up past 5. The little Rupes however you'll need to run it on 5 to get it going and 6 to keep it going (on curved panels).

The large stroke of the Rupes does more "correction" or work than a machine with an. 8mm stroke direct drive or not IMHO. It also will finish better and is easier to use every time.

Just my opinion.

so what if the flex rotates a couple hundred more times (OPM's) than the rupes, do you think it still would be equal? i thought i saw a chart (maybe not on here) that showed how many OPM's on each dial for both the rupes and flex somewhere...
