I pre-ordered the iPhone 4GS....

You must not be a Mac user? I used to be an only Windows user. Couldn't bear the thought of Mac OS.

Then I got my Mac Mini. I've had it for a year now, it's incredible. Lions OS is smooth and reliable, just like my iPhone. Granted I only have a 3G, I will be upgrading to the 4S. Man, I must be a real sucker. Actually, I just prefer great technology and Apple has brought that.

You mention it not being a "god phone", but what is? Android phones are cool, some buddies of mine have them. Funny thing though, they all want an iPhone. Why?, because of the OS, simplicity, and quality. Not saying Android phones aren't that, but until you have owned a Mac, iPad, iPhone, etc. with Snow Leopard+ or iOS 4.0+ you can't honestly sit here and critique Apple so harshly without justification.

Oh, and I agree with Bill from all of his comments. Research is knowledge.
 
In other words to stay on topic, I should be getting mine next week! I am undecided on which color though. White or Black? Thoughts? Was thinking white for my girlfriend and black for myself. That way we can switch if we get bored.

Probably good to get back on topic :)

I chose black because I love that color :props: I haven't seen a white one in the wild yet, so you may have to compare them at a store.

All I know is that I need to get a set of colored bumpers for my wife ... we keep getting the new phones switched up.

ive owned tons of smartphones, blackberries, apple phones, android phones. ive had all iterations of the iphone, cant stand them, ive had every at&t android phone available, as well as all the high end blackberrys.

no smartphone is the best and thats all im getting at. the iphone 4s is only slightly different than the iphone 4.

The thing that grinds my gears most is the fact that apple fans act like apple is flawless. MacOS isnt for everyone. to me it flat out sucks, ive tried it on multiple occasions. it doesnt "just work" like everyone claims it does. its not the end all be all of computer OS's. Windows also has flaws i understand that, so does linux etc. the difference is i've never had anyone come into my place of business and say "o you should switch to linux" after i tell em the internet is down in the building.

i literally have that happen at least once a month with apple fanbois. after i tell them that the software we use isnt available on apple computers they say "macs do everything"

i have never understood the need of bashing someones else's favoritism for a certain device... no one can ever say how they like something these days without someone coming in and bashing..... just plain sad.
 
I'm a long time pc user and very happy with them. Prices dictate I can spend less on pc than Mac of equal speed but let's be honest guys. Nothing holds a candle to the intuitive nature, ease of use, aesthetics, simplicity and complexity of design simultaneously, etc. I'm the last guy in the world to like an apple product just because it says apple (Im not that guy) But I have an immense appreciation of brilliant design and the apple iPad I'm typing this on is exactly that. I won't buy an iPhone or any other phone I have to pay those ungodly monthly prices for phone service but I would LOVE to get one. I'd pay a lot for it just not willing to pay a lot every month in a contract when I spend 45$ and have unlimited everything with my metro pcs with no contract and no "extra fees". That isn't iPhones fault though... That's AT&T, verizon, and the rest if them.

The market says a lot... And the market says people will pay 2x as much for an apple iPad instead of paying 1/2 the price for a competitor product. And in a down economy no less!
When I searched for the iPad I didn't want to spend the money it cost and looked at every other alternative in the tablet market and guess what NONE of them did what an IPad does. I paid the price and can now say I'm happy I did. Have you seen what percentage of the tablet market apple owns?

Not sure what percentage they own of the smart phone market but I'd bet a few $$ that none of the other phones are as well designed as the apple iPhone.

And that's the problem.

Apple Makes the iOS
Apple Makes a phone for iOS
Apple is the SOLE supporter of iOS on Apple Phone

Google Makes Android
Google doesn't 'make' a phone*
Google IS the sole supporter of "android based" phones which has carry and maker restrictions which limits them from supporting THE phones that are based on Android

If that last bit wasn't true I'm sure the Android experience would be just as good if not better than the iOS experience.

It also comes down to the point that google and many others have already done features before Apple; but Apples ability to market the product and integrate into their systems better is what gives them the leg up.

BTW in the smartphone arena we'll only have three in the coming gears with iOS, Android and Windows Mobile sitting at the top. I'm sure RIM will be bought by someone and Palm is already dead.

*Yes I know haters Google DOES make a phone commisined out to HTC to build the phone called the Nexus One, Nexus S (ditched HTC in favor of Samsung) and soon to be Nexus Prime (Samsung). That's the closet you can get to having one of the best (but a bit Vanilla) Android experience out on the market.

Nice shots Bill! The quality is looking really good. Much better than my 3G. Diggin your Legacy also. Did I ever mention I picked up a set of RAYS Gram Lights 17x7.5 with some Falken FK452's for $200? Can't wait until summer.....
 
How the hell did you get some Gram Lights for that cheap? Even at 17x7.5 that's one helluva deal.

Local guy sold his WRX a year ago and is out of the "game" for lack of a better word. His wife wanted them out of his garage so he posted them on a local forum. Glad I got a hold of him first because within a half hour from me going to my place to his he already had 10 or so people contact him. He also threw in a set of Motegi Racing lugs. Couldn't be happier!
 
Simply put, the iPhone 4s is a big step up from my previous 3GS! It's much faster, has a much better screen resolution, and when you add in Siri, you really have something! It's so much easier/safer to be able to talk-text someone while driving, instead of typing a text-especially when its against the law now!! I LOVE this phone!!
