Incredibly Cheap Finds

Northern Tool by me was sold out of Show Car Glaze, I did buy a 10pc Microfiber kit for $3.99 though. Cheap cloths, but could be good for random jobs.

Did pick up a gallon of the Griot's Spray On at Advance for $13.25.

This one?

When I check that Brinkmann it is now showing for $3.98, just so everyone knows. Pretty limited pickup though.
Just ordered me one as a backup......... silly me paid $29.99 + shipping for the first one :buffing:

I posted about those microfibers a few pages back, most of it is junk, but great for the "rag level", but the drying towel is not bad quality. Not great either, but makes the kit worth it. I got a few of those for $4!

Thanks for posting about the show car glaze, will definitely be grabbing a few of those. Just ordered 2 brinkmann lights too. Thanks guys!

I'm very curious about AAP. They stopped carrying the turtlewax rinse free, so I went into my store the other day and they were scanning at $6.75 each. I guess each store sets their price? I will have to check that out, I went to a store that doesn't carry gallons of Griot's but I will see what comes up at a different store. Keep your eye out for the TW, it should bottom out soon.

Also, I got a gallon of simple green with 2 terry towels at HD for $2.53. It was in their clearance section, but I can't find a link online to get you guys the SKU. I've posted a pic.

I got two pressure washer quick disconnects there too, they totaled out to a penny each! They have a male, female, and filter on them. I can't get the female seperate from the filter, but still, who am I to complain for $.02?? Apparently if HD discontinues an item they are to send it to their warehouse if they don't it shows in their system as a penny. Self checkout!

Not detailing related: Northern Tool had a few tap and die sets at my store that were ringing up $4.00, a 21 pc that looks similar to the $9.99 one at harbor freight. Home depot has stopped carrying their "dig corp" brand of irrigation supplies. Me and my wife were in there the other day trying to get some stuff for her garden, nozzles, tubing etc, and grabbed 3 pcs that turned out to be a penny each. Just FYI, the second pic totaled $0.26 after tax. Hope it helps a gardener! I actually used a section of the tubing to fix my pump sprayer! ha

EDIT: it won't let me post the second pic for some reason!

Found a couple of deals at Dollar General.
They have a foam applicator pad good for tire dressing application and/or if you have the black urethane type bumpers or molding, it'd be good for that.
would think applying some sort of application on your windows, it should do that too.
It is just a pad but with the little plastic enclosure for it which I really like. Only $1.29
Also found some 28oz empty spray bottles for $1.49/ea. Comes WITH the sprayer. probably a mid-weight bottle regarding heft..... not like those plastic bottles that are barely more than air like drinking water comes in, But, a good weight and feel to them.

I bought 4 Griots Garage Heavy Duty wheel cleaner from my local AAP for $9.99 each. That's 35oz with a sprayer for $9.99.

This was about 2 weeks ago and that's all they had in stock. I was thinking about buying more online and having it shipped to the store but didn't pull the trigger :(. Sale is over now.

There are a few of these available at my local HD, for $3.98. I didn't see an answer to the earlier post about whether these can be used for swirl finding? Anyone know or have experience with this model for that purpose?

Just a thought on the HD lights.

I found that they have the 4 C cell version (closeout advertised price) and they also have a 4 AA version @ $4.98 ($1.00 more than the other ones).

Couple of finds.

Advance auto has discontinued a few notable items. Reviews vary, as do prices. They were all located at the two stores I stopped by at.

  • TW rinse free wash: 6.35 or so
  • Megs ultimate wash anywhere: 4.75
  • Megs bug and tar sponges: 5.95ish
  • A few stoners and rain x wash items, $4-6.00
  • Autocraft flexible microfiber cleaning tool: $.50
  • Autocraft lug nut brush: $.05
  • Autocraft microfiber 3 pack: $3.00ish

Problem is, I had them scan the two sub dollar autocraft items first, so I was just blind to the other items. They're decent prices. The first store had 3 of those lugnut brushes, wouldn't let me buy any of them. They rang up for a nickel, and the guys were excited for me, but when it came to checkout, there was an error message on his screen. He showed me, it said "xxx item will be voided because it's no longer available" and no one wanted to sell them to me. I put up a little resistence and he gave me one of them without charging me. Second store gave me both of the brushes they had. I only bought 2 of the microfiber cleaning tools, but they were .50 at each store.

Tractor supply has Armor All wheel protectant on clearance for $.99. I've been to two stores recently, and the first one had it on clearance, didn't buy. The second didn't have the tag on the shelf that said clearance, but when I went to the first store to buy them, the cashier said that their store level clearance is in every store. Not sure how true that is and I don't really like buying Armor All products, but this one seems to have pretty solid reviews and is for sale elsewhere for $10-15.

The show car glaze at Northern Tool did not ring up on sale at my store. Was full price.

Is anyone else upset that Griot's decided to keep their prices the same and cut their bottles down by 35%? Crazy if you ask me.

What are you complaining about....Jackson Mississippi has some of the best looking Women on the Planet!

I'd love to hear you elaborate on that!

Also, I'm sure this is old news, but I figured someone out there can benefit from this. I was looking at the vacuum cleaners at home depot and they have Folex by the gallon. $15 or so for the gallon instead of $6 for 32oz

Not trying to blow this thread up but I was in the market for a longer air hose and ran across the amflo 3 pack of 50' hoses that HD had on Black Friday for 19.88, they're $10 with store pickup only now. Hope it helps.

I picked mine up last night and used it immediately. I finally saw some swirls which with the "swirl finder" sold here and other online detail stores, I was unable to find much of anything at all (no kiddin')

This one showed up the areas needing correction a whole lot better. It runs off 4 "c" cell batters, included, or you can use it through your cigarette lighter socket. It's a heck of a deal for $3.98.

I also picked up a little hand-held garden sprayer, where you fill it 1/2 with product and pump it up with the included plunger, then you can just hold your finger on the trigger for as long as needed. Don't remember the price off hand but it was dirt cheap.

...... Get the best buy club card (free) and get another 20% off.....

I know we're getting OT, but do you mind explaining the 20% off thing? I'm their Elite Plus or whatever and I have never gotten any extra percentage off...

When I was Single, my sales territory included Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.

My two favorite stops were Jackson and Oxford.
