Incredibly Cheap Finds

i use 2 gallon for ONR, APC for wheel wells and wheels, folex, IRONX, list could go on and on.. easier then typical spray bottle

Exactly. I also use one for hot water when I don't feel like getting my lgm out. I just use it and a rigid vac with decent results.

Keep in mind that you may not need 1,2,3 gallons but you can absolutely get more air in the tank if it's larger and that's a big deal.

Plus, someone on ago figured out that you can put a shrader valve on one with a pressure relief valve and use your air compressor to keep it charged.

Finally, a few hrs ago I went by Targe+ and looked in the clearance section and found a few things. I got 2 Armor All extreme shield wax repel .
Reg. $16.99. Clearance $4.78. Had to buy last 2 there.
Megs White Wax
Reg. $9.47 clearance $2.84. 1 bought

Rain- × original
Reg $.5.59. Clearance 1.67 bought 2

Armor All Bug Remover
Reg $4.99. Clearance $1.48. 1 bought

3 bags of Rain X perfect dose. Reg $6.99 clearance $2.08

Also I found walmart had M105 in the 32 oz for $19 . They also had a Meguiars orange bucket full of products for 5bucks.

agree, I looked for that deal immediately after post and it did not exist

No, it's there. Search their site for "duragloss 831" on the full site, not mobile. Click on "3 new from these sellers" and add the amazon one to your cart. Go to your cart, click the link on the product. Now the image will show "6 pack" in the corner. But it doesn't say it anywhere else on the page.

It's like that from about 5 or 6 dg products I saw. The thing is, amazon isn't selling a 6 pack for the same price as the other guys, on the same item number.

Here's another example. There's no way they're selling each bottle for $1.23 with free shipping. It's gotta be a glitch but heads up it can't be returned to amazon.com

You sure found some goods at "incredible " prices.
Good price on the 105, I didn't know Walmart sold it.

The wife was at Sam's Club today and called and said hey SAMs has Members Mark MF towels 30 for $13.58.

I figured they were CHEAP but for the price how can you go wrong, grab them for me! They offered them in white, lime green, blue, orange and yellow.

I crack the bag open and was pleasantly surprised. I'm gonna stop back in when I'm in the area and grab the green and blues.....

I looked it up and mine showed 6 pack for $7.39 so I ordered. We'll see. Had nothing to lose.

Did it say 6 pack anywhere other than the picture?

Looks like a lot of the 8oz products are in fact 6pack according to the picture. They have Aquawax listed for $12.00 reduced from $31.76. Shipping weight says 10lbs. Something doesn't seem right.

I know oreilly had the sponges for $3.95 if you have one in your area

Some of the OTC Megs stuff is going on clearance at my local HF. The prices aren't that great yet, but it would be worth keeping an eye on.

I stopped at Michaels craft store to get some spray adhesive today. At the checkout, they had 1" wide foam brushes $1 for 14, that's $0.07 each.

Ok, sorry for this. I've been busy lately, so I'm playing catch up here...

Don't knock it till you try it BlueBeast. I have a few Autogeek micros and the rest are from SAMs. I will agree that the ones at walmart are and feel cheap, but the ones from SAMs are actually very soft, I've even done the cd test in them. To me there is no difference between the SAMs and autogeek microfiber towels. At about $14 for 30 that's not a bad deal. Next time your there grab a pack and check for yourself.

One of the main reasons I see this thread as an asset to the AGO/AG community is it helps me save money on the things that are generally agreed on that are worth saving. In turn, I spend the savings on products that are well worth not "skimping". One of those categories is microfiber towels.

Just as posted earlier that the Walmart towels vary in quality from Sams club towels (and even different batches from samsclub) while costing roughly the same, so do the "autogeek" towels. You simply cannot compare the best from one category to the (presumably) worst of the other.

Even my best Sams towels that I'll do rinseless washes with, especially if following with any kind of correction, are not cut perfectly square, some edges fray after one or two washes, etc.

The cobra jrs and griots blues that I have are in a different league. It would literally be like saying that the national champions of high school football are "the best in the country". That doesn't mean they can compete with the Seahawks.

I've seen where MarkVP wrote posts back in the day advocating SAMs towels and now has relinquished that to use of high quality towels for correction/wax. I'm fairly certain 99% of folks that have a passion for this go through the same train of thought. I know I did.

With all of that being said, the SAMs towels will always be in my "arsenal." I use some for rinseless, some for interior, some for wheels/engine bays.

I see them similar to clay, I don't let it touch paint unless I'm going to some cleaning/polishing/correcting afterwards.

Just my 2 cents... Maybe 4, I know that was long.

I'm not knocking it. Like I said, I just want to be informed. I've been weary to go for the cheaper towels, but I would like to save money if they are good, and it sounds like they are. I need to get a Sam's card so I can get some of them. Good point about the varying batches, cshamilton. What you said about only using them on paint if you intend to correct, that is pretty much what I was thinking. And I would love to spend less on towels for my wheels and interior where it's not as big of a deal. I'm not a huge stickler for the shape. I just had some cobra polish removal towels warp on me after a single wash, but they are edgeless, so I guess there is a little less structure there. I bought a lot of the Chemical Guys towels, but I never see them mentioned here or on Autopia, so I'm wondering if there is a reason for that... I almost bought some cheaper towels at AAP the other day. They had a 3 pack BOGO for 5 bucks, but I shook it and lint went everywhere so I told the cashier "Never mind, they're linting a lot." She looked at me like I was crazy lol.

I enjoy a good deal as much as the next guy but I can't wrap my head around people who pay 10 dollars for a 5 gallon bucket when you can go to Home Depot and get a homer one for 2 dollars that still fits a grit guard. I see no benefit at all and they even sell lids there too if u need one

I added it up the other day, and I think it was around $35 to make your own bucket kit with the grit guard, gamma seal lid, and wheels. But slap a nice logo on it and it's $70. If anything there should be a discount for the free advertising.

I bought a more exp 5 gallon bucket for the fact it's more clear and had measurements. Could I still use a $2 bucket-sure but I've bought buckets once and they should last forever. Save the $$ back buying some Duragloss products instead of high priced brands

I bet people would buy $25 buckets if they said Menzerna, Black Label, Blackfire etc :-)

If it's the one from lowes, it doesn't fit a grit guard.

Apparently the measuring bucket from HD (only available online) fits a GritGuard perfectly. Unfortunately, according to one Amazon review, it's opaque white, not clear like it says. But I'm using white buckets now and I can see the water level from the outside, so I don't think it would be an issue.

What would you use a sprayer for in the detail world?

I'm glad you asked this, I was wondering too lol.

Amazon has 6 packs of duragloss 831 and 881 for 11.80 and $13.

I think that's a mistake on their picture

Hey let me know how that works out. If you actually get all 6 that's awesome!

I can't live without my pump sprayers. Either hand held or larger ones. If I'm just doing a rinseless wash and don't get out hose or pw, I can presoak the car with onr in my 2 gallon round up sprayer pretty easy.

I picked up some purple power and put it in a Walmart like 80 cent spray bottle and the thing didn't even last 2 minutes before it broke. Either the bottles cheap or purple power totally destroyed the thing, or both lol
