Is Ironx a essential step nowdays?

I still have some in stock and it's likely I'll never use it now. In my experience using it a bunch of times, it is nowhere near as powerful (or safe for that matter) than ironx is.
 
I wouldn't say it opens the pores but it does dissolve the iron that remains in the clear after the top gets sheared off by clay.

This leaves tiny voids in the clear that will eventually be filled in by wax or sealant...

And wouldn't these tiny void also be referred to pores...???

I get where you are going with this but pores implies voids that open and close. Could be maybe with heating and cooling of the clearcoat -- who knows what is going on at the microscopic level. I think a panel is clean after washing it with car soap, dawn, iron x, then clay, but when I put the paint cleaner on it, bam, black stuff on my white polishing pad.

Avi has used the term pores too I believe...

It's all good. I usually don't perpetuate threads like this... but I don't make a post or statement unless I am certain I am correct.

no need to argue, the ironx does dissolve the iron particles that the clay bar "shaved" or what the clay bar cant reach.
these tiny little dots which is dissolve are open pores which either need to polish or seal well.
thats why we say its very essential to use ironx before Cquartz, where ever irons removed the cquartz penetrate and seal.

now , i saw some posts here dissapointed from no visual "bleeding" on there cars, well, if you car is well kept in closed garage with not much driving in industrial areas ofcorse there will be less possible to contaminate the car ..

and here is a short video from one of our customers in Spain, very dirty Mini wheel, touch less cleaning, he used allot of ironx to spray only to see if its possible to do well cleaning without any agitation for 10 min only, the video was Fast forward :

Avi, you're killing me with that OPC Insignia! The version of that we'll be getting over here won't come even close to that performance level :(
 
I just used the ironx soap gel. It's faster and whatever iron it removes before claying is good enough for me.

Mark, I'm sure you know, but the soap must dwell for a few minutes to be fully effective. It's nice to get it done in one step vs two.
 
I used Iron-X this weekend for the first time on a yellow 2004 corvette. It had a lot of fallout on it and it was amazing to actually see the reaction all over the car. I didn't expect it to be as strong smelling as it was but after I got past that I really liked the stuff. Made claying a breeze.

Im glad you like it, about the smell , we try our best to reduce it but its not easy
i suggest to everyone who cant bare it, to use face mask and it will solve the problem
about claying, i would dare and say that ironx followed tar remover will eliminate 80% of the need for claying the car ! , or at least using aggressive clay bar.
we will launch soon our idea for tar remover spray , which will be fast reacting and safe to use on any surface ! but thats off topic now...
