Something is out of wak here
1. How do we measure durability
is it measured by beading? If so dirt dust and pollen ca affect beading.
2. Is the durability of some products more intangible or something that can't readily be seen. In other words just because water stops beading doesn't mean the product has stop protecting.
Those are questions asked all the time about lots of different products and there's never really any conclusive tests that demonstrated concrete answers that apply across the board because there's so many factors that influence results between cars and people in the real world that testing can only serve as a guide or reference point. Most "Wax Tests" that start out as a thread on a forum usually evolve into a Wax War and that trend probably won't ever change knowing the nature of people and online forums.
For most "car enthusiasts", that is most, not all, we wash, clay, polish and wax or cars often enough that 2-3 months durability isn't a good thing or a bad thing because before 2-3 months go by we're repeating one or more paint care procedures.
I waxed my truck 2 weeks ago and yesterday spray-waxed it. After the Dallas Roadshow class I'll probably do some wet-sanding to the smooth panels and then wax it some more.
Klasse AIO is not a sealant and does not provide any real paint protection.
Klasse AIO is a product that falls into the
Cleaner/Wax Category. Regardless of whether the protection ingredients are a waxy substance, a synthetic polymer substance or some kind of acrylic substance, the point is
it cleans and protects thus it falls into the cleaner/wax category like many products on the market.
If it just cleaned, then it would a paint cleaner, but it does leave behind a protective barrier coating on the surface. Even the name implies cleaner/wax as a cleaner/wax cleans, polishes and protects in one step.
This probably circles back around to words and their meanings and some people don't like to see the word wax, polish or glaze used interchangeably but in this industry that's what happens.
It lays down an acrylic coating that lasts 6 months or longer,
That coating is the protection aspect of the product. Whether it's okay, good or great is subjective but it is a coating left behind on the surface thus the product is a cleaner/wax or cleaner/
use a word you like here besides wax that implies protection
The problem with Klasse AIO is that there is no right way to use it.
Or maybe a better way to say this would be, it's versatile, there is not right or wrong way to use it.
One thing for sure, it has a very strong and loyal following.
It's amazing how many different opinions there are about Klasse AIO.
Or any wax or sealant for that matter...
Did the original poster ever get his question answered?
I think he did somewhere in this thread. It probably would have been better if when the question about durability and protection came up a new/dedicated thread on that topic alone was started not that a definitive consensus would ever be unanimously agreed upon.
