I like to look at things from different angles, everything in life has a plus and a minus.
Matt is a personality that can be very abrasive. There are times when his sentiments are out of line and rude, and I take particular offence to his comments regarding professional drive, not everyone wants to climb that mountain, some are happy to play at the bottom. I get the hate. But............
He has a business, and he is in business to sell stuff. Of course he is going to show case the stuff he sells, it's his job to hype those products. The same way a detailing business would post their hard work and results on social media or on a website as a way of advertising.
What I like about his approach is that he is not just sourcing a product line, copying and pasting the manufactures description and stock images. His product listings have their story as to why he is selling them, with a comprehensive collection of independent images, backed up by a Youtube video on why and how to use them. Yes, he charges shipping, but then you get free how-to videos and independent take on the product rather than the official blurb. Granted, a professional detailer won't need that sort of information, for others it's very helpful. I have learnt a lot from those videos.
All of that sets him apart from his competitors, and I respect that. Having worked in retail for 18 years, I know how unreasonable some customers can be. From that angle, I respect that he doesn't pander to idiots, mainly because everything that a potential customer needs to know is in the comprehensive product description, the photos and the videos. Having said that, every encounter I have had with his team has been pleasant, even when an order go's wrong.
As I said, I can appreciate why people can't stand him, I get sick of it too. But I can also see the other side of the coin, and the point of difference he provides.
