This thread can't be real. Its to good to be real
Seriously. The fact that the OP hasn't responded...makes me thing it's fake. If it is real...I'd LOVE to hear him defend himself, haha.

ya have a valid point, could be a ploy to see just how honest we are buy our remarks to his post....
:iagree:
Could be like the President or something looking for an honest detailer. Hope he picks me![]()
yrs ago i detailed a car for a guy.he left a 100 dollar bill, under 1 of the floor mats,i guess to see if i vacuumed there.he came to pick up the vehicle, looked it over, and then asked for the bill, back. well i said that any money found in vehicles was mine. he wasnt sure about that. so after some talking,we split it.not bad, plus i got the cash for the detail. never found any more money in his vehicles. just some thing to think about.it pays to ck the sun visors also, foun out the same way.
Real or not I have run into this before... I hired a kid once when I was mobile to help me out and he was literally CLEANING OUT THE CHANGE in customer cars! Since then I have no trust for hiring people to work with me cause I am not there to babysit them and make sure they don't steal or to make sure they do things the right way and make the proper presentation of the car when finished...
OP What say you????
I agree. Whether the post is fake or not...it still hit home for me with a similar situation. I had a guy helping me bust out some dealership vehicles, and he found a GPS under the seat. He thought it was ok to keep it! He actually kept it for weeks, until he slipped and told one of my other guys...who then turned around and let me know.
I confronted him about it and he literally said this..."Well, I figured I'd just keep it and see if they said anything. They didn't...so I kept it. It's not like it's theirs anyways, it's a dealership car!" Fired.
Any and all money that I find while cleaning a customer's car gets placed in a small ziplock bag and placed in an obvious place in the vehicle... Usually it surprises them and they tip me but some look at it and thank me then go on their way... I would never keep a customer's money that was found in their car....
I used to put a few dollars in my console or under the seat before I took my car for service of any kind and if they were gone when I got the car back and not in a visible place or handed to me that place was then black listed by me and honestly I told every friend and family member not to go there... That is theft...
I don't know if you were just kidding with the customer or not and I am not trying to attack you or your character by any means... I am just saying what I do and what is professional...
Now have I been tempted? Yes I have but have I ever taken anything from a customer's car (besides a few cents that my vac may suck up)? No...
