Wow Joe, I knew I had to sit down for a good 10-20 minutes to read through this whole detail, but it was well worth it. It seemed like I went back in time, that was some serious stuff how you and your team brought the original WWII icons back to life!

I remember Mike saying something about using m20 on a different project not too long ago with great results. Thats some serious stuff that it worked so well on these two bombers.

On a side note, do you have a sign up sheet for 2018? :buffing:

Amazing Joe, hats off to you and all the participants and the sponsors for keeping these two flying pieces of history looking there best!

Thanks for sharing the story with all of us.

And thanks to the Collings Foundation to keep these great warbirds flying.

Wow, Joe! That is so cool, man. Great story. Nice work. Seeing those vets brought it all together.

But on a different note: you still liking them Mothers? :) - they're pretty good, but I prefer Famous Amous)

Living legends. Amazing story, Joe. The B-25 is one of my favorite planes of all time, and the one here looks stunning. I loved seeing the pictures of the Veterans -- like kids in candy shops!

These warbirds represent a time in our history when Americans came together to win a war. She is a symbol of FREEDOM. All sacrificed much. Some sacrificed everything. This needs to be remembered. The story needs to always be told.
...

Our countries are full of snowflakes that have no appreciation for what our ancestors accomplished. God bless you and your wonderful team! :dblthumb2:

That has to be one of the best posts on ANY forum that have ever read & enjoyed.

Amazing!!!!!!!!!

What's really amazing about the B-24 was their were 19,256 built and their are only two airworthy, this one and Diamond Lil.

The B-17 Flying Fortress was the more well known of our AAF during WWII, their were 12,731 of those built. heir are approxiamtely 10 of these airworthy.

It must have been amazing to meet those men who flew them. If you were 18 in 1943 you're 92 now, these guys are truly the last of the few.

Joe this picture sums up why when you call on projects like this we are always willing to jump in!
This picture says a thousand words for all of us and I know this is the same reason why you do this year after year!

Thank you for supporting the detailers on this project and the veterans Meghan, hats of to AG and Meguiars. :dblthumb2:

Just awesome. This is so bad @ss for you to assemble a team and do this...post up here and be able to interact with the great veterans of this country who remembered seeing them in all their glory...and then to be able to see them look just like that again, now, today! Outstanding!

I have jumped (skydive) out of this aircraft. Out of the bomb bay doors. At the time it was named "The dragon and its tail" . Same aircraft. Collins Foundation renamed it like 10 years ago. Their B17 is Nine-O-Nine and is also a beauty

This is too cool! Love me a B-25, I believe I have seen that one in person before.

Outstanding! Amazingly cool! What an honor and experience it must be!

To ad note: My grandfather was in the Air Force during the Korean War and was in a C-24 (I believe it was a carrier variant of the B-24) that was shot down over the Pacific- he was the only survivor.

Wow, I love this! What a fantastic job you and your crew did. And what an amazing thing you did for history and those veterans.
Thank you so much! I absolutely enjoyed reading through this thread.
