I agree. This is also why Meguiar's specifically markets this towards the production detailing industry, not the show car detailing industry. Keep in mind Meguiar's is a huge company in "this" industry and the offer,
Professional Line for fresh paint environments
Detailer Line for cured paint environment
Consumer Line for enthusiasts (cured paint environments)
Marine Line for boat enthusiasts (finished products i.e. watercraft)
Fiberglass Mold Release Line (OEM fiberglass products, i.e. making watercraft)
Plastics Line
And they use to offer a number of other lines, OEM, Furniture, Co-Label but I don't know the current status of these... point being that specific lines are formulated for specific needs. That doesn't stop the "enthusiast" or "detailer" segment of society from using product intended for a different industry but keep in mind there is a rhyme and reason for everything.
Foam for final, show car finishing
To date, I have still not found a better replacement for any paint system for the final machine polishing step other than foam. Foam has a uniform surface texture, fiber pads have individual fibers rubbing against the paint. There's a difference there...
Big picture, match the system to the job. Plus, if you use any MF systems, you can always use a foam pad an an ultra fine finishing polish like the Menzerna SF 4500 for your last machine step before going to your LSP
