Not the biggest F1 fan but this sounds pretty serious! Apparently he fell and hit his head in a skiing accident, he was even wearing a hemet. Hope a miracle happens, let's say a prayer for him and his family!

That's some sad news.
The dude is the best F1 driver out there but more important he has a family that loves him and wants him with them a little longer.
Prayers go out to him.

You know I don't follow F1 very much (at all, really), but everyone knows who Schumacher is. That guy is Mister Formula 1. Definitely hope he makes it out of this one okay.

Holy cow... you drive a go kart at well over 200 miles an hour protected by nothing but a full faced helmet screaming past concrete walls and other 200+ mph go karts, and what finally injures you is a pastime millions of people do every year and most rarely even sprain an ankle!
 
Wow, I'm snowboarding tomorrow and certainly know how quickly things can get out of hand on a mountain. Hopefully he comes out of this alright
 
His surgeon has said his condition is still critical and "hour by hour". I hope what I was reading has not been lost in translation, but I think it is safe to say he is still fighting for his life, contrary to some reports out there.

Now, take this next comment the grain of salt but many of his past employers engineers and team bosses for gathering at the hospital to show support. I only hope it's to show support and not to wish him goodbye. Or comments and follow when I have them. If anybody else has updates please post.
 
It really makes you think how quick your life can change. Hope he pulls thru this ok.

Hope he is okay and gets out of this one. Prayers for him and his family.
 
wow this is sad to hear. I'm a huge F1 fan and he was a great driver. i watched every race he did and i was always his fan. I really hope he pulls through. This is not the way for him to die. I will be keeping up with the updates and hope for the best.
 
Just read an update where one of his neurosurgeons said that it could take days for the injuries to peak. He still in "critical" condition and still "fighting for his life ". Unfortunately, with this newest development, it could take days to really see the full effect of his injuries.

All I know is the physicians are doing everything they can and only time will tell if use able to prevail. As always, I will keep everyone updated through this thread as I get more information. As things continue to stabilize, at least in regard to new information, there might be gaps in the relay of information. I hope other members who have information that I may have not yet read will please contribute to this thread as many of us are very curious.
 
It "seems" like his condition is now stable and remains in a medically induced coma, one can only continue to pray for his recovery!

Just wanted to give an update. Saw this on SPEED blog today.

Now two weeks since doctors started trying to wake Michael Schumacher, the F1 legend remains in a coma.

That is the news of the German daily Bild-Zeitung, reporting that while the seven-time world champion has often presented reflex twitches since the anesthetic was reduced, Schumacher is still not responding to deliberate stimuli.

However, Bild said the former Mercedes and Ferrari driver’s wife Corinna – who is at his bedside on a daily basis – is following the doctors’ advice by continually talking to the 45-year-old, as there is evidence it can help a patient in Schumacher’s condition.

The report also claimed the newly-retired Ross Brawn, who worked closely with Schumacher during the ultra-successful Ferrari era, visited the famous driver’s bedside, slipping in almost unnoticed by the media last Thursday through the staff entrance.

Meanwhile, it is believed that French investigators into the skiing accident are preparing to reveal their findings, with Bild citing ‘legal sources’ in believing the file will simply be closed.
