Mircofiber IMO...

I had a feeling those edges wouldn't hold up. Ah well. I'll still pick some up.

Geez already coming apart? I have some AutoZone cheap MF towels that have been through countless of washes, still holding strong. They get beat to death to, use them for wheels & tires, interior, engines etc.

I had a feeling those edges wouldn't hold up. Ah well. I'll still pick some up.

Yep, but just at the corners. I don't think they will go too much further however.

The last "Pro Series" holds up better. and my Wal-Mart had a few packs of Pro Series left so JSou you might be able to compare in you store and pick the series you like best if they have some of both.

For some strange reason I like these new "Platinum" ones. Maybe I am attracted to the flashy colors lol, but the real reason is that they are VERY soft just very thick.

Still, I have always bought cheap MFs at Wal-Mart and they keep getting better and better for the same price. Do you guys remember the smaller blue and white ones they use to sell lol! I still have a few survivors left.:xyxthumbs:

By the way the "Glass Towels" they sell are just their regular microfibers in a smaller size. They have all kinds of 2 packs labled "Detail", "Finishing" microfibers etc but I think they are all the same material lol!

BTW Jsou if you do pick some up let me know what you think. Maybe my expectations are too high after numerous Carpro and Autogeek towel orders!

I got some of Car Pro's Angora's & BOA's. Man are these so soft. The Angora's I used for rinseless and waterless recently, I don't think I'll be reaching for anything else. They are Korean.

I just ordered up a bunch more. Softest towels I ever owned. :dblthumb2:

I gotta agree. I think the Angora may be the softest microfiber I have ever felt!

Soft doesnt necesarily mean its effective. However when it comes to rinseless washes & QD/Spray Waxes, higher GSM towels are the way to go.

The nicest, softest, most high quality MF towel I've ever used is Adam's Single Soft towel.

I should also add that the Angora's were the most effective that I have ever used for waterless and rinseless. It is 455 gsm. You just have to hold one and use it to see.

Have you used Autogeek's "Woobie" or the Duragloss Polishing Cloth?
If so, how do the Angora's compare? It's just hard for me to imagine something softer that Woobie's.

I'll have to look into them, as I do alot of rinseless and waterless washing. Currently im using a neon green towel not found here at AG, its a 600 GSM.

Drew,
Some Wal-Marts are carrying a new series of towels...like those you showed that are new also...but these "other" towels I'm talking about are charcoal gray. They offer them in about 3-4 types for different purposes, but all have at least one charcoal gray side. They are extremely nice towels for the money(and Wal-mart), and are much better than the new ones you have pictured.

I have only seen the towels I'm refering to at only one of our local stores, thus far at least. However, all the ones I've been to are carrying towels like in your photo's and while they're nice, I'm not that impressed with how they feel and what I see of construction.

I have some good towels that I bought from towel pros. Rob is great to deal with. However, wholesale club stores prices are hard to beat.

I hear the woobie is like the BOA. Thed angora is softer IMO.

I hear many using the green 600 gsm. A lot of good said of that for this use. Very good towel. If you get the chance try the angora someday.

Bill,

i am going to check into those ones you linked me. I think I got sucked in by the flashy colors of the Wal-Mart Platinum lol! They are not bad though.

Dear Friends

I received CarPro's BOA towel today and am very impressed by its quality. I already have too many microfibers to justify a large microfiber purchase, but in a perfect world, the BOA towel would be my go-to workhorse.

I saw those as well. Actually quite thick and soft, I was surprised.

how are those towels???

I use adams towels now and they are great.....but always looking on great stuff at great prices. The "metropolitian edgeless" has a great price but is it a superior towel??

Hi needham,

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't tried any of Adam's towels yet, so I wouldn't be able to give you an honest answer. If I would to compare Metropolitan towels to Carpro's BOA, I would say the edge goes to Metro. Step up to Carpro's Koala, however, the two are similar in terms of construction and softness (with the Metro being edgeless). For the money though, the BOA is difficult to beat.

They're great, aren't they. The only thing I noticed is the towels (mine anyways) do not get along with Dodo Juice Basics of Bling. They would lint a bit. Great with all the chem in my arsenal, just not with Basics of Bling. Odd...

With all the talk about the new MF's in Wally World, I stopped by the other day to see what they had. Sure enough I found the ones you guys are talking about. Must be really new because with 3 different styles they only had 1 shelf tag, yet no price. Found a tag that didn't go with other towels but it was $8.47 if I remember right. :dunno:

OTOH, I just washed a new batch of the Eurow 660's. They are a non-standard size @ 12 x 16 but still work fine folded into quarters. Also can't complain about their overall feel as they are very soft, very fluffy, shag on both sides. They are a dual ply towel however, held together around the edge by the silk edging. You can pull them along the short edges, (long ways) and they'll stretch a good 2", but along the long edges, (short ways) they don't stretch at all.

The softest paint I have around here is the Infiniti (which I'm not about to do any work on right now) so I cannot attest to whether or not they'll scratch it. Was hoping to get started on a total once over on my Caddy this weekend to try them out. But now they are talking about freaking rain and snow for Christ's sake.

If nothing else they'll be GREAT for ONR washes. :dblthumb2:
This photo is from their site, as they come out of the package. Once washed they are much MUCH more fluffy than this photo.

Also, more importantly is the pricing. Buying them (by the 10 pack) is very affordable (under $30), with free shipping *A* with "prime". ;)

Are the good Wal-Mart ones in the automotive or household section?

Drew

Okay, so I bought some more MF towels and it looks like what I think the softest are has changed. In terms of price some are not for the faint of heart so if your looking to pay 2 or 3 dollars a piece you'd better go to K-Mart or Auto Zone. Since they are so soft these are great for buffing and maybe not so much for removing dried wax. So here are the new MF kings. IMO.

1) Chinchillas - soft, plush, still number 1.
2) Adams double soft. - nice and pillow like, they simply feel good
3) Woobies - wow, just wow is all I can say
4) Zaino boarder less blonds - thin but really, really soft
5) Tie: AG's Artic Whites and Griot's Speed Shine MF towels - you can't go wrong with either one.

There are too many honorable mentions to name (trust me I have most of them).
