Most effective or best value Iron Remover?

$129.99?!?! Maybe on this website.... I pay $99.99 and that is before wholesale discount on another website. Am I allowed to mention it on here? Lol. I have used Iron-X and Griot's and they both work identical from what I can tell. It all comes down to container size at this point and Iron-X 4L for less than $99.99 is a no brainer for me.

or even Wheel Brightener..

I have been waiting to hear from someone who has used it long term, is Wheel Brightener that good? If so I may get it once I am out of Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus. The Sonax works AMAZING but it a bit pricey for my liking.

Its ok a little on the weak side.If you want a true wire wheel or mag cleaner acid is the way to go.13.00 a gallon one shot of this stuff and your good for one year.No scrubbing or agitation needed if you have a pw.

Obviously you've never seen iron particles oxidizing on a paint finish and turning orange rust color

Both the Kia and Tacoma sitting outside are white... Believe me I've seen iron particles on paint, the claybar removes them.

IMO the OTC Meguiars Hot Wheels Chrome Wheel Cleaner or Eagle 1 Chrome & Wire Cleaner is nearly equivalent to diluted Wheel Brightener, and I started using that stuff 20yrs. ago when I bought my 1st car. Works great, for regular maintenance it works even better.

We need someone, not me, to do a proper clay bar treatment THEN use Iron X or something similar to see if anything is left behind. I just don't want to take the time to do it myself lol.

So you felt like Griot's worked just as well as Iron-x? That is good to hear. I just saw that the normal price for Iron-x 4L at a competitor site retails at $99.99.....why is Autogeek selling it for $129.99? I've never seen such a massive price difference for any chemical when it wasn't on sale?

Yes, it appeared to work as well, that was on a white Toyota so good test color for an iron remover. But oz per oz, it's more expensive then Iron-X is even. I'll be honest, I am new here but not many of the prices shake me up. I buy Iron-X from DI. 30% mark-up is nuts, I wonder why....

Thanks guys! Has anyone tried 3D BDX or Griot's iron and fallout remover? I've read that BDX can be diluted 4:1 which would make it a fantastic value!

I believe BDX is made to be used RTU. Something changed along the way from the diluted version. I stopped following what happened.

This is true.

Britemax and McKee's spray too thick. For wheels, that may be ok, but for paint, it's not efficient. Ferrex are IronX are great. Not too thin, not too thick. Poorboys has the consistency of water and sprays on nicely, but smells VERY strong! IronX LS is my favorite.

if I remember ill do it on my next detail later today, I was thinking the same thing before you posted this

I've used CarPro in the 3 different flavors as well as McKee's and they all work great but what I really like about the McKee's product is the smell, or should I say, lack of it. I also have the new Griot's iron remover and hope to use it this weekend when I do a full detail on my DD, so I'll be able to report later about it but it seems to be getting "glowing" reviews, pun intended :o

Have used both ironX and ferrex. Both works equally well, though ferrex removes tar too. So 1 less product for me to use.

In my neck of the woods, ferrex is cheaper and easier to find so I'm sticking to it for now.

If u look close the white specs are bigger on the none clayed but u can see some purple on the none clayed, that's the fallout, there is no purple on the clayed, looks like eldorado2k is on to something.

Are all iron removers literally the same? At least the same active ingredient at the same concentration?
