Most regretted detailing product purchase

At least all the crap products get given to my brother in law as they have something in common. They don't work!

Lol

^^^ Send him to America, he can be Obama's right hand man.

What, he's a coke head too!

I used to think my brother in law had a cold until one of my friends who is a cop told me other wise!

He is not allowed near my garage unless I am there to supervise the bum.

And it's everyone else's fault he is a waste of space as he can't deal with responsibility.

When I go to do my father in laws cars he has to turn up to see if I could do his for free!

I cleared out all of my bad purchases and gave them to him to help him keep fit and shift that cold!

Really not a fan of GTechniq C2v3. Its really strange to use and I just find that for the results I've had and how difficult it was to work with I have better products that are far easier to use.

I'm starting to think my 3401 was a bad purchase, I'd rather have a rotary. I use my 15ES more often than my Flex.

Also, Black Label Glass coating was a huge waste of time as well.

Looking to sell your 3401?

One of the most recent regrets -- California Duster Wheel Brush.

Total piece of garbage. It broke after a few uses. The cloth that attaches the duster to the top of the prongs that separate around wheel spokes split from normal use (no, the loops didn't get attached to anything). I've had large dusters that have been amazing after even a decade of use. This duster doesn't deserve to share shelf space with the others.

And, for what it's worth, I actually really like the PBL Glass Coating. It does a great job at repelling dust and keeps the windows really slick. Alternatively, CG Hybrid v7 does an excellent job at the same and is a simpler application.

So are u suggesting that I try it again using only the Megs APC? I'm not willing to buy the Tuff shine tire cleaner - already wasted to much time, money and effort on their product.

Yeah, try using an apc. Amazing roll off will not allow the coating to bond properly.

Just make sure to clean the tire until it no longer shows brown foam.

Gotta agree back to black was just a messy trim detailing disappointment that just ended up streaking down my paint. Learned the hard way a few years ago not to use heavy degreasers on aluminum wheels, but that was my own dumb fault.

I've have tried just using the Meg D101 APC and that didn't work either. According to Nick, it could be the rubber compound but regardless, I'm done with Tuff Shine.

Meguiar's D14001 Wheel Brightener
Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
5 Gallon measuring bucket from Lowe's: put a hole in it trying to fit a grit guard.
Quick Disconnect from Home Depot: The brass Gilmour products at Lowe's are much better.

What didn't you like about D140?

How come you didn't like the Megs Ultimate Polish? I just used it after using UC, I'm not sure it made much of a difference though so was just curious.

Cheap microfiber towels. Like the ones from autozone. The little 14x14 ones. I now have a surplus of them and don't use them

Engine bay cleaning, wheel and tire cleaning, wiper cleaning, many uses for something like that, how about exhaust tip cleaning?
