Most regretted detailing product purchase

VRP is only good on tires....had the same experience trying to put it on anything else
Are you guys shaking it good? Crazy, I have never had it run on me. I really like it on door panels and dash. That and Silk Shine.

McKee's 37 turbo dryer. Had 'bugs' but sold it, anyway. "New, Improved" version is out now, but no update kit, for us, that bought the early versions.....I'll learn, one of these days.

Foam cannon (what a useless "tool")
Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam
Chemical Guys CLD101 All Clean+
Chemical Guys TVD10916 Silk Shine
Chemical Guys Tire Dressing Applicator Pad
Chemical Guys Chemical Resistant Heavy Duty Bottle and Sprayer

I was young and dumb just like a lot of people who were starting and loaded up on some CG products as well as a foam cannon. Such a bad idea.

What kind of bugs?
I used mine last week after driving in the rain. Lazy mans car wash day with Gloss Coat.
I don't use mine much but it fills that niche when I need it.

Really don't like a foam cannon?

there were a few concerns/suggestions. the hose or nozzle would come/blow off and adding a shoulder strap was another. if you don't have any problems with either of those, then you need not to worry because everything else is the same except for the color which is orange now to match the mckee's 37 theme...

2 gallons of Meguiars Last Touch Spray Detailer (On sale) - not because it's a bad product, but I realized it was overkill with other things I already had on the shelf.
Bought same thing. Don't "regret" it because it's a good product at a good price. Just so damn much of it.

And what's wrong with Honey Dew and Silk Shine?

Bought 2 gallons of D115. Great product but quickly got annoyed with the overpowering scent. Luckily traded one gallon away but still working on using up the other gallon.

New to add to the list;

Chemical Guys Nice and Wet Trim Shine Coating.. It sprays uneven, and requires a towel "buff" as it doesn't cover the area nicely. I'm going back to their Black on Black spray.

As I said on the other site...........

AG did offer a fix for the hose coming lose (just call and ask nick for it). Just about every product out there ends up "improved" or changes made. So you bought it early...... Again as I said on the other site, with that thinking Chevy should give me a new vette every year.

It seems to me you want to make enough noise so the send you a freebie or just want to cause a ruckus.

I don't care "what it seems to you"...................the question was 'most regretted detailing product purchase'. I answered that question. Move on.

Chemical Guys – Concours Wheel and Rim Detailing Brush , the plastic on the tip came off after 1 car clean exposing sharp metal, also not enough bristles - the brush would just glide over the dirt leaving it behind.

Chemical guys chenille microfiber wash mit- got very heavy once wet and became tiring to use, only used it once and went back to the merino wool mit which is much softer and easier to use plus better for the nooks and crannys

meguiars - black trim sponge - didnt cover very well - quite gimmicky

meguiars compound polish - hard work to buff off and didnt shine very well

meguiars white wax - didnt produce any visible benefits and didnt shine that well

cheap chinese DA polisher - vibrates like crazy and not enough power - complete waste of money

not too bad a mistake collection after only a month of getting into detailing :)

CG Bear Claw wash mitt and CG clay bars. The mitt scratched the absolute hell out of my freshly painted hood (I saw it before I moved on luckily) and the clay bars left these annoying fibers all over my car. I even pulled apart a fresh piece of clay and could grab the fibers out of it with tweezers. CG refunded everything, but both cases are actually very concerning to me.
