My solution to $150 foam guns...

LOL No problem. Shoot...thats $10!!! I was light weight annoyed at the fact I had to convince the cashier to price match the online price. I bookmarked the page on my phone before I went in there and then showed it to her when I was checkig out. She said they "don't normally price match their online store because they want you to take advantage of the online shopping experience." I sat there and gave her a deep blank stare. I was like it shouldn't matter given the fact you can buy online and then pick it up in the store. She ended up giving it to me at $9.99 so I was happy.

Based upon the comments on this forum and other reviews, I purchased the following today at Home Depot:

1,800 psi 1.6 GPM Axial Cam Electric Heavy-Duty Pressure Washer
Model CF1800HD
Store SKU# 834881 $159.00

G-Foam Blaster for 4,000 psi Pressure Washers
Model AGPWF04 $9.97

I had a printed copy of my online "wish list" which showed the $9.97 price fo the G-Foam Blaster. The cashier didn't bat an eye when I asked her to please price match the online price.

Used both products this afternoon and I am pleased with both. Previously owned a gas powered PW and never liked using it. The new PW is perfect for our needs around the house and for washing vehicles. I used Megs Gold Classic, 3 ozs. mixed with hot water. Blew foam all over the place.

I picked up this same setup yesterday and have already done three washes with it. :xyxthumbs: I do like it, but the Megs GC doesn't really foam as much as I was hoping. It's decent, but not as foamy as the demo video at the beginning of this thread. The suds don't cling for more than a minute before they're mostly run off the paint surface. Is that due to the soap or foam gun not working as well as the high end guns?

I get two washes out of a bottle of 60/40'ish mix soap/water. Not sure if that's average or not, but I'm gonna need a new gallon of soap pretty quickly. I think if the soap foam better I wouldn't need to use as much to cover the car.

Sean...I gave the G Foam Blaster a run today and it worked pretty good with the Meg's GC. It wasn't real thick but I was, for the most part, satisfied with it. It ran off the vehicle pretty fast.

What I did was put an ounce of GC shampoo in the canister, filled with water, and then shook it up. I think I read somewhere where someone filled the canister with water first, put 2 ounces of shampoo in, and stirred it instead of shake it. I'm going to try that next time. I just picked up some DP Extreme Foam for it. Hopefully that will work better than the GC.

I use to work at home depot, and i use to wonder why other cashiers even care. If people were cool with me, and jokingly asked for a discount (besides people with commercial accounts), no problem. As long as i didn't go over my $50 that would require a supervisors pin and go over board with it, who cares! I always price matched as long as i think they were telling the truth (even with out proof). With this economy, a little discount goes a long way and it shows/does a lot to customers.

After the first month, they wanted me to be head cashier! No thanks, i rather be a cashier, goof around, and/or just run away to chill with other employees when slow, without getting into TOO much trouble. The Home Depot is suppose to be a shopping experience, and that is what i tried to do! I dont get commission and management gets a fat check at the end of the year either way, so who cares! Might as well make everyone win and happy right? lol

In the demo video at the beginning of this thread I used Meg's GC with Meg's APC, about 4-5 oz combined. I've since used GC a few times and it foams well.

key thing is too add hot water with 3oz of megs gc and shake it up well!

Can you use this with, say, a Karcher K-series pressure washer?

I have a foam attachment for my Karcher pressure washer and it works really good. I think it only cost like $25.00...
ANY photos of attachment for the electric Karcher that you purchased for $25.00 and where did you make the purchase.

It has a quick connector. HD sells an adapter kit for those with an electric pressure washer.
any photos of kit or item number available? I need it for my electric Karcher Bought a foam cannon but can get the shaving cream effect it foam more like my Gilmour foam gun and I want close to or if not the shaving cream effect, lol

I bought the other g-foam part where you hook it up before the pressure washer and give it a 2 out of 5 stars, I used it a couple of times, but it runs out of soap really fast, and it is a pain to refill.

SORRY found it(item number & photo) after reading through all other post sorry for any inconvience.

Hmm, maybe less is more with the soap? I figured more would do the job better, but maybe it's too heavy a mix to fully foam? I've got some CG Maxi-suds on the way as well.

Good info. I'll try giving it a shake first as well. If it's already foamy in the container it would make sense that it should foam even more coming out of the gun.

Try it with 2 ounces of soap added to hot water. Stirr it up. I think filling it with soap then water possibly creates too much air in the canister. I'm giving mine another shot this weekend. I got some DP Extreme Foam on the way.

Just realized this myself this past weekend. I didn't get much foam for some reason in my first wash and I remembered it foaming more when I bought it last fall. Did exactly what you said, took it off, refilled with hot water and shook it up. Bingo. Unfortunately, nothing really gets me massive clinging foam due to hard water. But it made my really dirty vehicle much safer to go over with my LC sponge after foaming, dwelling, and rinsing.

the direct injection thing?

yes,

This detergent injector works o.k. But it runs out of soap really fast, and it sucks to refill because the cap gets suction cups on. I mean you use a lot of soap.

I bought the G Clean foam gun but it didn't fit on my 10 year old gas honda pressure washer, so I returned it and I got this product for $20,
I guess I, get what I payed for.

I need to buy a real autogeek foam gun, Which will hopefully fit on my Honda pressure washer.
