My son has his first gig tonight!

Seems like a BRIGHT young kid, Mike! :props:

Do you have any videos of him singing?

So who's doing the video recording of his show? :poke: Yancy

Mike, your beaming pride comes right through your words! You have every reason to be proud. I got a late start with kids in my life. I'll be 47 this summer and my oldest is just 7. Your son's music taste is awesome too...wonder where those influences came from, eh?? LOL

congrats Mike, I can see why you are so proud

Being a musician its a joy for me to see the youth of today pick up an instrument. It really changes the person for the better and you see and hear the world in a different way after learning to play

I approve of the Ibanez, my brother has 2 :)

continued blessings Mike

Great I'm sure!

:applause:

Mike - you have every reason to be proud. Congrats to Dad and son.

The play list are all great songs and as Zoh6 asked, post up a video for us to enjoy. I know you of all people have a video or two .

Very nice!! He's got a bright future for himself with all that talent!!!

Can't wait to see any video if you shot some!

Well, how did it go?

I used to play guitar and bass. I had 4 Ibanez. Great instruments. My nephew plays in bands and goes all over Florida. I gave him a new Ibanez for Christmas.

Where are the vids?

Good stuff Mike! Those are some pretty difficult songs to play! I know from experience. If you ever wanted to suprise him....you should check out Warmoth.com . You can custom build your own guitar through there and it won't cost an arm and a leg like the Fender Custom Shop. I build my own strat with all the goodies that I like for about $800.

Well all I can say is if he is anything like his Dad..he is a class act and a "handful"...probably fun to be around. Good luck to the lil' Phillips..and it is the greatest reward to be a "proud" parent.

Very nice, congratulations to him.

That's a nice guitar as well

Welcome to the oldest roadie club Mike I started lugging around my sons equipment when he was 12 and started playing the Bass . From there I can only tell you it gets even harder on us . Now he plays Bass / Lead Guitar and drums also does music engineering . Like you I was and still so proud of him . Heres a picture of some of his equipment
