Well, I got the go-ahead (wife's permission) on my truck's stereo system. I was an installer while in college and competed in IASCA and USAC competitions. I'm a Alphasonik autorized dealer so I get everything at cost here.

Here is a breakdown of the equipment going in.....

Headunit....
(I also get Pioneer at cost. Not Pioneer Premier though.)

It will take about that long to get it in!
 
Nice, my old system was 3 10" subs (110 oz magnets on each), four 3 way 6X8's, and kick panels in the front with Focals. Think I was around 1500 watts....loud lol, more setup for sq though. I don't know about Alphasonik subs, but they make great amps!
 
I've installed alot of their subs. Awesome for the money and can take a beating. I used to really love Focal. Yellow right? I fell out of this for a few years so I don't know what's still around. I'm more about SQ as well. Had to be for IASCA. I'm just trying to figure out the box. I'm thinking down firing.

Justin did your Ranger have an factory amp built in somewhere? I'll nbever forget when I 1st did the system in the other truck (Explorer). Ford had an amp in the right side around the wheel well behind that cargo area covering. Was all happy, ran the wires etc, go to turn it on....nothing. I didn't know about the factory pre-amp. I had to rewire everything to it first and back again, as for some reason I couldn't bypass it and I couldn't remove it, that fawker was bolted down in there good at an awkward angle and I didn't want to remove the interior just to take the cargo panel off to reach it, stupid Ford engineers lol.
 
Can't wait to see what it looks like. I also like the subs firing down.

Awesome, Justin. That thing also has Bluetooth, which means you can wireless have wireless connection with your mobile phone, and talk on a phone without ever holding a phone. It will use your car speakers, and is much louder then a speakerphone on a mobile phone. You will love it!!! I have one on my car (came out form factory) and I love it.

That is the main reason I'm getting that head unit. That and I can get it for cost. Sounds awesome too. I have had nothing but Pioneer headunits for the last 7 years.

Yeah, this one was a Tremor Edition. Had a 10 in a plastic box firing down. Pioneer headunit as well as 5x7s all the way around. Not bad.......for factory. If I was going to use their wiring, it would be a pain. Since I'm doing kickpanels, I will be using my own speakewire. I even bring in my own power for the headunit. I just push the factory harness back. I don't like using 24AWG wire for power....even for a headunit.

I've down a alot of Fords that had an amp. Sucks.
 
Should be a nice system, if you fabrication skills are anything like your detailing. Look forward to seeing the finished product. :D

The gain you get is amazing. I've seen up to 3 dB gains which is doubling sound pressure. All this from just firing it down. I'd have to go into the physics of sounds waves here......please just trust me!!! The only downfall is that you can't show your subs off. Oh well sound is more important to me. Plus, I can still use my ext. cab for cargo.

These are the ones that I might get instead of making one. They are built well. R/T boxes have been around a long time. Did mention that I can get them for cost too? LOL!

Whats the "regular shop" price on that pioneer CD player in US? looking at almost the same in Norway, I like the Bluetooth system on it, and the the sound that Pioneer gives.

They have the warmest sound to me out there. The retail price is 599.00. Rule of thumb is that cost is about half of retail. Yep 100% mark up.
 
Thats not so different in price from here.

Hope you post some pics of your progress.
