Need your input on 5 1/2" Pads

I will be using my hunting truck for practice and once I feel comfortable and confident with the tools and products I will move on to our newer cars.

Smart idea...thou I'm sure with the GG you'll have no issues at all. Pretty much can't do any harm with a PC unless you use a really jacked up pad in which case you may ADD swirls rather than take them out lol.

If you can, do pictures! I'd love to see how the spray compound/polish work out on with the Hydro pads.

Oh and Rob thanks for the pointer on the Hydro pads...i'll be sure to make sure they're bone dry before storing them

What about cleaning these pads? Can I get by with Dawn or APC, or do I need a dedicate pad cleaning product?

3 cyan 4 tangerine and 2 crimson is a great combo. You will not be disappointed. Please write a review after you use the pads a few times! I've been considering picking up some of these myself but haven't heard anyones experiences with the new 7/8" pads.

The new low profile pads are perfect for DA's! I used them last weekend when I polished a Subaru Outback and noticed that I didn't have to use a much pressure. Depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint really determines the amount of pads. I plan to use 1 pad per 2 panels +1 extra in case something happens. That doesn't mean I use that many, I just try to plan ahead.

You don't have to use as much pressure to compress the 7/8" pads vs. the 1 1/4" pads, so the machine is not working as hard to spin. Make sense?

I've had so many people contact me about this. I only use hydro tech pads for compounding and polishing, and every once in a while I use gray ccs pads for Menz 85RD. The gray pads usually get washed because I rarely use them.

Well i guess you can add me to your list lol. I just ordered 3 Hydro's to try out...after reading this thou I dont know if i ordered the low profile or the thicker ones (didn't notice there were 2 different kinds at the time i ordered ...hehe)
