Nice work! And thanks for sharing. I've been sold on LEDs since I started using a PAR20 5K as my portable/side lighting. And they are so durable! I would have done gone through a dozen halogen bulbs by now. I'm looking into LED tubes to replace my fluorecents. And possibly some LEDs that duplicate sodium halide color/temperature; those are bit pricey though. My big focus is getting some wall/side lighting that's fairly compact and possibly mobile.
Question though Tony. How do you reach the switches on the lights?

Speaking off Edison, we went to the museum down in Cape Coral a few years ago, its a pretty cool place.

We rented a house (with a boat) on the North side of the river, just West of there and East of "the miserable mile". You could almost see the Edison place from where we were (with some SERIOUSLY big binoculars).
It was really beautiful, just hated that whole thing having to go a mile on the river at almost "no wake" speeds. I'd say Cape Coral / Ft. Myers and especially Sanibel, Captiva, Cabbage Key are probably my most favorite part of Florida. Loved spending a few hours over on Cabbage Key, getting down with the Buffet vibe at the original "cheeseburger in paradise" joint.
Don't get down there very often, if we do it's probably the Gulf Coast (although in May we rented over on St. Augustine beach). If we ever do get back down.... next time we'll get on the Gulf side of "miserable mile" part of the river, if not on Sanibel/Captiva.

Yep, they are not as wide as say the big square $99 single LED work lights (have some), but they are a great addition to them as well as my regular halogens. :xyxthumbs: My son even gave me another single head floor sitting halogen for Christmas.
For now I only have 12 fired up in the garage, but do have 14 heads (the other two are CFL's for now, been experimenting with a different color temp) and will end up with 16 total heads up.
Try some big CFL's, like the Eiko/Alzo. You'd be surprised at the general ambient lighting they give. You can never have enough light!

I actually just found some online that replacements for metal/sodium hallide lights and they average over $250 a fixture. They put out like 3000 lumens which is way more than you'd need for the average height garage. Now if you have ceilings above 12 feet or so then they might workout. Still doing my homework on them.
